Rainy Days Bring Sleepy Spells
0 Comments Published by Brian Yalung May 23rd, 2007 in How to sleep better, Sleep Myths.
The best climate for people to enjoy sleep is perhaps when they have nothing to do due to some natural limitations such as rains and storms. In these cases, people would usually find themselves in their homes left with little things to do. Among them include that of being groggy and ending up simply want to get some sleep even for some short spells. A lazy resort for sure, but given the circumstances, people are really left with limited options.
Cold climates will surely make any person groggy. Who wouldn’t? Anyone would want the best atmospheric setup possible and rains bring in the cold spells anyone can simply sleep along with. Hopefully though people do not forget that being left idle would mean less production and their professional careers may end up being left in the dark.

Dizzy Spells and Sleepy Heads
0 Comments Published by Brian Yalung May 22nd, 2007 in Health Issues, How to sleep better, SLEEP Psychology, Sleep Disorders.
Hold on. Just because you experience dizzy spells wherein you may want to simply drop dead at times doesn’t mean that there is something diagnostically wrong with your health. For one thing, have you asked yourself if you have gotten the proper amount of sleep?
Chances are, the cause for such dizzy spells would be fatigue and abusing your body. Bodies need proper rest periods which we solicit from observing proper sleeping habits. While people have to do extended working hours and stuff, the fact remains that our bodies need a break at times.
People sometimes become hard-headed. It would not matter to them if they get sick or ill. But the truth of it all, we will feel the effects of such bodily abuse. Let us just hope that once that happens, it will not be the time when sleep is the only thing prevailing over such standing issues.

A good night’s sleep reduces stress
0 Comments Published by Lilian May 22nd, 2007 in Health Issues, How to sleep better, SLEEP News, SLEEP Psychology. This is a concept that most people already now — sleep reduces stress as it helps the body recharge and restore well being. But with today’s very busy lifestyle, it is easy to disregard and apply this to our day to day activities. Do people really see the significance of sleep?
A research by the Tempur-Pedic’s Wellness Advisory Board says that most adults still acknowledge the importance of sleep. As this report says:
Regardless of whether American adults are actually taking their own advice, they overwhelmingly understand that sleep is every bit as important to their health as proper exercise and nutrition. The survey found that American adults believe sleep (42%) more so than exercise (39%) and far more than nutrition (19%) does the most to restore their sense of well-being
The research further discovered that:
- Sleep is the first choice of Americans in their wellness regimen: one and a half times more than proper diet and two times more than exercise.
- Three out of four Americans (76%) say a good night’s sleep makes them feel younger. Women are more likely to say this than are men.
- A pillow is America’s favorite sleep accessory - and it is nine times more important for a good night’s sleep than a sleep partner.
- Nine out of ten Americans (91%) consider the investment they made in their mattress to be an investment in their well-being.
- Americans spend about as much on their mattress as they do their sofa (36%) or their television (34%). Nearly two out of ten (17%) equate their mattress spending to what they spent on their vacation.

Will Over-fatigue Deprive a Person Sleep?
0 Comments Published by Brian Yalung May 22nd, 2007 in Health Issues, How to sleep better, SLEEP News, SLEEP Psychology, Sleep Disorders.
Jumpy and with a lot of things in mind can be stressful. Some go to the extent of being over-fatigued but yet would not know what to do. Many find it hard to sleep if they are in this stage. This may sound weird but the truth behind it is that people who are used to being hyperactive would tend to look for the various activities that would make them click.
Hence, once a person is free from doing anything and has his bed as the only object he sees, chances are he will not immediately go to sleep. A mixture of excitement and high adrenaline rush is still existent and chances are the person would still be looking for means to be doing something rather than lying back and resting his laurels.
In a way, sleep deprivation stems from over-fatigue. People just can’t believe that they have done so much. This development contributes to sleep deprivation because of its mental approach, something that people in the hyperactive life know all too well.
