Taking Out Tonsils May Cure Sleep Apnea
0 Comments Published by Brian Yalung July 31st, 2008 in Health Issues, How to sleep better, SLEEP News, SLEEP Video, Sleep Apnea, Sleep Cures. One thing about sleep apnea is that they are caused by blockages to the airways of a person. For some, it may all boil down to inflamed tonsils to which you may want to have them checked out. Tonsils are known to be something that are normal to be taken out if people would prefer. It may be because of discomforts but in the end it may be linked to sleep apnea.
Tonsillectomies do not only limit itself into treating adults. There are children who have their share of this discomfort. A trip to the family doctor can assess the situation and perhaps when advised to take them out, they can see more progress which includes better sleeping habits to look forward to.
Caitlin is among a growing number of kids getting tonsillectomies to treat sleep disorders. Doctor Stephen Landers, an ear, nose and throat specialist, is seeing a sharp increase in surgeries, and says many of these kids are misdiagnosed with learning disabilities. “They’re not getting restful sleep at night so they are having trouble behaving during the day,” he explained.
Post surgery, Caitlin’s energy level has skyrocketed. She can focus, and most importantly she can breathe and sleep more easily. Doctors say this is quite common. Kids with learning disabilities or behavioral problems are often found to be suffering from sleep apnea.

Couples Can Compromise For Better Sleep
0 Comments Published by Brian Yalung July 30th, 2008 in How to sleep better, SLEEP News, Sleep Events, Sleep Issues.
Sleeping alone isn’t much of a problem but once you get married or begin having sleeping beside you, it is not always a bed of roses. While you long to have that special someone to sleep with, once proper sleeping positions or habits may not always be easy to understand.
Once this happens, people can always turn to compromises so that they don’t end up cursing each other or even sleeping separately. Actually sleeping in separate beds or rooms is a common practice to get good sleep. But if a compromise or even help for such would be a good way to resolve the issue. It all depends on how willing couples are so they can both get proper sleep.

Evaluate the Comfort of Sleep Number Beds through Hotels
0 Comments Published by Brian Yalung July 27th, 2008 in How to sleep better, SLEEP Gadgets, SLEEP News, Sleep Cures.Sleep number beds have so far been tagged as the best way to get sleep. But the problem is that people may not be that willing to buy them just yet unless they get to prove to themselves that they are good for it. With that in mind, how can anyone measure the degree of comfort they can offer?
Well take it from this couple. The long for the quality sleep just like most but they did not buy the Sleep Number Bed initially. Posh hotels such as the Plaza Hotel offer such beds and while it may be a limited stay, it is more than enough to help you in evaluating if it is indeed worth the investment. It is amazing how one button can make the difference in getting quality sleep from a quality bed.

Luckily, a breakthrough mattress on the market this week promises the ultimate personalized sleep experience. And believe me - when it comes to comfort, this bed is king.
Six inches of air chambers make up the heart of the mattress, while a 3-inch top layer of slow-response memory foam cradles your body and soothes pressure points.
Best of all, with the push of a button, a Firmness Control System adjusts the firmness on each side of the bed on a scale of 0 (feather soft) to 100 (firmest of all).
The Sleep Number bed’s price tag is pretty steep (starting at $3,200), but it’s the ultimate personalized sleep experience. The air chamber technology adjusts the firmness on each side of the mattress to meet day-to-day changes in your body.
