Sleep is an Essential Part of Employee Performance
0 Comments Published by Brian Yalung March 3rd, 2008 in Health Issues, How to sleep better, SLEEP News, Sleep Business.
Companies have a high degree of expectations these days and this includes the area of production. However, there are issues today such as sleep that hinders them from performing up to par with what they are supposed to deliver. Some point towards lack of sleep as one main cause and most companies are experiencing this need today.
Sleep has become increasingly important. Aside from performance, it has contributed in becoming an obstacle for the worker today. Inattentiveness has become one key problem today. They end up encountering problems along the way and it has put their overall health and safety on the line.
Here is a survey made to justify the need of valuing sleep more.
Among the survey’s findings:
Dangers on the road. Thirty-six percent of respondents say they have nodded off or fallen asleep while driving, including 26% who say they drive drowsy during the workday. Work performance. Twelve percent of respondents have arrived late to work in the past month because of sleepiness. Other problems cited: impatience with others, difficulty concentrating on job tasks and lower productivity. Work hours. Employees with more than one job report the highest rate of dissatisfaction with sleep: 43% say they get a good night’s sleep only a few nights per month or less. Part-time workers report the highest rate of sleep satisfaction.

Waiting for A Perfect Night’s Sleep
0 Comments Published by Brian Yalung March 2nd, 2008 in How to sleep better, SLEEP News, Sleep Business, Sleep Cures, Sleep Disorders, Sleep Issues.
In a nutshell, which sane person would not be interested in getting a perfect night’s sleep? This is something that is pretty much in demand all over the world and with an obvious demand for this unusual need, most companies have turned to various remedies such as pills, pillows, machines, therapies and massages to at least get closer to the actual needs of people today.
Sleep is not a common commodity that you can simply take out of the shelf. People know this and artificial remedies to something natural as sleep will surely be something many would-be customers will truly be wary of.
Dubbed “sleeponomics,” companies across America are trying to sell us a perfect night’s sleep with pills, pillows, white noise machines, aromatherapy, massage, acupuncture and more. And it’s fast-becoming a $20 billion-a-year industry.

Marmot Offers Recycled Sleeping Bag
0 Comments Published by Brian Yalung February 12th, 2008 in SLEEP Fun, SLEEP News, Sleep Business.
When you go outdoors such as camping trips, chances are you will need to bring along a good sleeping bag to serve as your mate when it is time to get some sleep. Apparently, most of the people are looking at the high-end and expensive ones but thanks to Marmot, a recycled sleeping bag is being offered for people who no longer have to worry about comfort and the green compliance standards put into the production of one.
The Marmot Eco Pro 15 is a good sleeping bag to count on which is made from recycled plastic bottles. This time around, no longer will you have to worry about sleeping comfortably outdoors and add to this the fact that you are doing your contributions in promoting green and eco-friendly products as well.
The new Marmot EcoPro 15 will be in the shops from later this month and uses high tech UpCycle materials. It’s a three-season synthetic bag which uses 100 per-cent recycled fabrics for the shell and lining and 80 per-cent recycled insulation.
A wave design combines shingle and blanket construction to save weight and maximise efficiency and the synthetic UpCycle insulation and DWR treated fabric should make for reasonable performance in damp conditions.

Sleep Easy Investing
0 Comments Published by Brian Yalung January 28th, 2008 in Sleep Business, Sleep Issues, Sleep Therapy.
So this post maybe a bit different. While we all know that sleep is the number one victim of people who cannot afford to relax when it comes to business and investing. Indeed some people would forego sleep and lieu of devising new ideas to make up for faltering businesses.
Indeed, business problems will surely lead to sleepless nights. But one thing that they should perhaps consider is if they continue with it and abuse their body continuously, they may as well end up losing investments and health together.
What is your number one investment priority? Finding the next “hot” stock? Making huge profits? Making 10 percent a year on your money? If you found yourself nodding at any of these suggestions, you need to rethink your whole approach to money management. The number one goal of every investor should actually be to sleep comfortably at night. Simplistic? Sure! Personal finance expert Gordon Pape explains that if you adopt the sleep-easy philosophy as your basic credo, both your health and wealth will benefit. In this must-read book, Pape explains this investing philosophy and how it can be used by everyone to avoid the greed and fear traps.

Can You Sleep through Recession?
0 Comments Published by Brian Yalung January 24th, 2008 in How to sleep better, SLEEP News, SLEEP Psychology, Sleep Business.
If most businessmen and entrepreneurs had a choice, this bad dream of recession that may soon be plaguing the world is a nightmare that they would want to sleep on. A crisis is upon the world and apparently many of these traders and businessmen will have sleepless nights ahead.
Most of them will be counting and computing figures for sure. Money lost is something that will drive anyone crazy. So with all these issues in mind, who can afford to sleep? Knowing these people, they would rather stay up and look for other means of investing their money. It is just an issue that some people will not pass.
Falling stock markets are a lot more bearable if you know what to expect.
So let’s study a little history. Back in early 2001, the markets were in a position similar to the one they’re in now, and a whiff of panic was in the air. Headlines in the Canadian business press back then show it was justified in the short term, because the ensuing bear market was long and severe.
The longer-term view from today makes all the fearful recriminations of early 2001 look almost quaint by their datedness. Here’s one for you: “Research In Motion shares plummet,” from Jan. 3, 2001. A couple of days later: “Research In Motion continues to spiral.”
