Sleep Experts has announced the 7th Share the Warmth Blanket Drive, a program intended to benefit the Genesis Women’s Shelter. Families are asked to drop of new or gently used blankets at any of their 34 store locations from today up to Thanksgiving.

This year’s drive shines the spotlight on teen dating violence, with Highland Park High School and Rockwall-Heath High School joining forces to collect blankets and raise awareness of this type of domestic violence.

Remember that Siesta contest posted some days back? Well apparently a winner was declared and he hails from Ecuador. A 62 year old unemployed security worker named Pedro Soria Lopez took the title and went home $1,400 richer after showing off a 17 minute snooze highlighted by decibel snores.

There were over 360 contestants organized into groups of five and were given 20 minutes to lie down on couches and sleep for as long as they can. Each contestant was timed by a doctor with a pulse-measuring device

Expectant moms who may be giving birth this October or May are in for a freebie of sorts with this invitation to a FREE Safe Sleep baby shower sponsored by the Eastern Virginia Perinatal Council.
