The ideal weight for most of us is something that is hard to do these days, especially if you have been used to sleeping and eating as you wish. Many find it difficult if not impossible but with the proper determination; you can really battle the obesity syndrome that has a pretty big bearing when it comes to sleeping and being healthy.
With lack of exercise, your heart is suffering a lot from it. With lesser calories to burn, there is no telling what would happen to you, even in your sleep. Now encountering problems in your sleep has to be the worst kind of thing that you can experience and basing it from the people we see today, it would be best to try simple exercises with focus and concentration to make sure we have our bodies functioning in the right way healthy people do.
1. Walking
2. Jogging
3. Calisthenics
4. Tai Chi
5. Sports
6. Swimming
These are plain and simple exercises you can use as alternative. All it takes is the right way of thinking and you can be assured of a better and healthier life and sleep.

Trouble Sleeping? Place Flowers in your Room

Scent coming from lavender has been proven to help us sleep. While I have made previous posts wherein scent plays an integral role of aiding sleep, perhaps it is but fitting that in these hard times where everyone is at a standstill on what tomorrow holds for them.
Lavender in your room can really hit the spot. In fact, if you think about it, you may just find yourself sleeping soundly with the right ambiance and aroma therapy manner of falling asleep perfectly.
Oneirology, the scientific study of dreams, still has a lot to discover (was Freud right to say they reveal unconscious wishes? Are they responsible for déjà vu?).
But even if science still doesn’t know much about dreams, this research was surely worthwhile given that an estimated six years of our lives, or two hours a night, are spent dreaming. At the very least, the results will provide parents with some intellectual ammunition in the all-too-frequent quest to ensure teenage offspring clean their rooms: unpleasant smells, it seems, can influence negative emotions in dreams.

Dreamkeeper 400: Acupressure Wristband for Better Sleep
0 Comments Published by Brian Yalung September 19th, 2008 in How to sleep better, SLEEP Gadgets, SLEEP News, Sleep Disorders, Sleeping Pills.
Here is a good alternative to people who want to shy away from the usual sleeping pills to get a good sleep. Acupressure boasts of a biomedical device called the Dreamkeeper 400 that relies largely on acupressure techniques, stimulating the median nerves on the inside of the wrist through electrostatic pulses and adjustable vibration.
So for all the sleep deprived and insomnia-riddled people out there, this may be the solution that you have long been looking for. A better alternative than the risky sleeping pills such as Ambien.
The DreamKeeper 400 isn’t the first device to merge technology and acupressure points, however. The digital Aculife Magnetic Wave Therapist claims to bridge ancient Chinese medicine with modern technology by digitally locating your so-called acupoints so you can apply a “small amount of electricity” accordingly.

Economic Downturn Becoming a Problem for the Restless
0 Comments Published by Brian Yalung September 17th, 2008 in How to sleep better, SLEEP News, Sleep Business.
By now, the world has perhaps been informed widely about the Lehman Brothers Holdings Inc. and Merrill Lynch issue to which both had filed for Chapter 11 or bankruptcy due to financial problems. While many have been laid off, the impact it has is deemed worst than the September 11 attacks on the United States, making more people wonder what is in store for them as far as stability is concerned.
Ordinarily this may be seen as a temporary setback but for people who need to survive, sleepless nights are pegged ahead. It may not be categorized as a serious sleep disorder for now but if the trend continues, it should not be surprising as to how this will affect people mentally that may go as far as becoming medically related.
One thing that is for sure, you cannot tell people to take it easy. With an economy practically at the cliff, who knows what tomorrow would hold. That is perhaps why many cannot sleep well these days. There is no telling which company may follow the footsteps of Lehman.
Within the past year, 38 percent of Americans said they couldn’t sleep because of financial worries, 34 percent experienced the butterfly feeling in their stomachs for the same reason – while 9 percent have even broke out in cold sweats after toiling over their finances, according to the Birmingham-based bank’s Build-to-Order Free Checking Anniversary Survey.
