Sleep disorder patients get another lift with the announcement that Cardionet has introduced another device to help diagnose and monitor cardiac rhythms that can detect sleep disorders. The product, called the SomNet, was added to the Conshohocken, Pa., medical-device company’s existing mobile cardiac outpatient telemetry system.
SomNet works by measuring cyclic variation of heart rate, a rhythm that is caused by repeated arousals from sleep caused by such disorders.
