Wind Turbines may add to Sleep Woes
Wind Turbines are best known as a new way of delivering clean energy and addressing the power requirements needed today. However it seems that even these alternative energy sources have their share of affecting folks, particularly when it comes to getting proper sleep.
A study briefs us that people who live near these said wind turbines are bound to encounter sleep issues. Apparently the noise that these wind turbines offer is the main problem, making jet engine-like sounds or the irritating thumping sounds which are sure to keep folks awake.
The governing bodies where the turbines are situated need to apparently address the issue, perhaps relocate or strategically place these energy-delivering wind turbines farther away from homes as possible for people to sleep better.
“A quarter to two thirds of people living close have disturbed sleep compared to less than 10 per cent to 40 per cent of those living farther away. It essentially doubled the number of people who have disturbed sleep,” as relayed by Jeremy Aramini, an epidemiologist who lives north of Fergus.
