Sleep Grinding is Common in Kids

If you suddenly notice that your sleeping child is grinding his teeth, don’t be alarmed. It is common among kids due to some factors like:

1. Sleeping position
2. Emotional or Physical Stress
3. Teeth Irregularities
4. Genes Alignment
5. Allergies

Of course, if your kid is running a fever, it may be a just cause. But other than that if your child grinds his teeth during sleep, it usually goes away when he reaches 13.

However, if the grinding habit is severe and persistent, it can give rise to problems like the wearing out of teeth, broken fillings, pain in the jaw, headache and sore facial muscles in the morning. The teeth may become sensitive and loosen. If the child is suffering from these symptoms, the dentist will check and make adjustments to elements that may be contributing to the habit.
