Birth Size Linked to Parental Sleeping Patterns

For anyone, sleep is important. With emphasis on the pregnant women and expectant parents, it would be advisable to get all the sleep you can get. Aside from potent health issues, lack of sleep may lead to small birth sizes, something that a study recently showed.

The study, which included 289 8-year-olds born healthy and full-term, found that the lower the children’s weight and length at birth, the greater their odds of having poor sleep or sleep disturbances such as sleep-related breathing problems or nightmares. What’s more, a mother’s prenatal drinking is a habit that can impair fetal growth and development was linked to a greater risk of childhood sleep problems.

This is how sensitive a pregnant woman has to consider. Sleep is perhaps the best thing that they can do at their current state, not only for them but for the child they are carrying. This is a good example to show that a child’s health and state would depend largely on how a mom would take care of herself during the pre-natal stages.
