An alarm clock and perhaps lighting is something that should easily wake up people from sleep but it seems that a combination of both really did wake up folks in the good old days.
That is if this 18th century contraption is indeed what many folks are calling it. Apparently this was among the first alarm clocks in the early days, a spring-loaded mechanism that uses a flint-lock to light a candle.
Considering that clocks back in the days didn’t have much technical specs or features, this alarm clock is perhaps among the advanced ones that could wake up folks from deep slumber when they needed. An antique piece and surely a collector’s item although some safety issues seem to be at risk (with reference to the flint and light feature it had).
