Copy of what I just wrote to the company, this should give you some info about how much of a rip off this product is:
I would like to offer some feedback about your supposedly fantabulous Teach Me Time Clock.
    1) it should be made of soft or shatterproof plastic, not plastic which will clearly split the second it is shoved off a surface by a child. Take note of the Ikea soft ghosts nightlights, THAT is proper child proof material.
    2) the volume is not adjustable enough, it is simply too loud, especially if the child wants to play the time game alone or simply listen to the time being spoken. Our walls or doors aren’t thin, and we still hear it.
    3) your pretending that it rings with a “nice ding-a-ling” is a pure lie! I made a very simple enquiry prior to purchasing. In this day and age, it is not too much to ask to have the number of decibels or a recording of the ring tone. Clearly, your company knows that the tone is a nightmare, that it does startle and that it does not sound like a “ding a ling” at all. It’s more like a screeching doorbell so a janitor hears someone coming in the central heating room in a 1939 appartment block.
Quote the reply to my enquiry: “The Teach Me Time! does not have an “adult” sounding alarm. It is a nice ding-a-ling that would not startle. ”
I am deeply upset that I spent nearly £40 on Firebox.com to get your alarm clock. This was my little girl’s “big” Christmas present. I can’t afford to have things shipped on the other side of the world for my daughter and find out the information I was given was misleading.
