It has been a practice and a belief that the best way to get some sleep is to have a teddy bear you can hug by your side. Teddy bears come in different sizes, shapes and material. Whatever the kind of teddy bear may be by your side, it is getting to sleep that is important.
To this day, even adults have their share of being used to having these stuffed toys by their side to sleep soundly. Apparently, some just use them as a means of security and relaxation altogether.

Haha thats funny, but true. That security to know someone is there with you if you’re scared of sleeping in the dark. I had a hard time sleeping alone when I was in this one long relationship, and after was worse because I never again felt that security, mind you I won’t be running out to get myself a teddy bear as a grown adult. Although for my little sister I would definitly want to get one.
yeah it seems we have gotten attached to the idea that teddy bears are more than just stuffed toys. Having something to hold on to or to cuddle seems to be a good way to find security these days and sleep soundly
Thanks for the comment and dropping by
Evan, whoever said sleeping with a teddy bear is childish and is a person with insecurities! The important thing is that you are sleeping comfortably with no trouble at all. It is better to have something to hold on to for that extra security we always look for and it just so happens that teddy bears are the immediate resort.
Yeah, there is nothing wrong with sleeping with a teddy bear, I sleep with a stuffed dog sometimes… :p
Teddy Bears are great models for healing. Sleep is one area that they can be helpful, but teddybears can go beyond “holding for sleep.” They can be excellent tools organized as models to work through grief, loss, domestic violence and even with substance abusing clients.
As objects they excel as tools for social workers, psychologists and marraige and family therapists to provide psychosocial assessments and intervention techniques. They are excellent tools for play therapy with adults.
Just as having a pet lowers your blood pressure, having a teddy bear is a good thing too, nothing wrong with snuggling up to something you find comfort in. I am a guy, over 40 now, and I find a lot of security in having my teddy bear to sleep with. I also have a wife I love deeply, so I snuggle with both, anything to help me relax and go to sleep !
I am a 30 yr old female and I sleep with my bear every night with my spouse in the bed. I am actually searching for answers. I wanted to make sure I was not crazy because I really do not want to give up my bear. I have a 5 yr old daughter and she plays with her hair at night. To me that is equal to sleeping with a bear. I am glad to know that I am not the only one that feels that it is ok to sleep with a bear.
