Lighting is said to be one of the main protagonists when it comes to getting the proper amount of sleep and with the advent of a new class of bulbs, better sleep may yet be within reach.
According to various studies, different colors of light affect not just our conscious system but also some sleep-related issues. This includes issues surrounding blue light which would normally be found in the usual fluorescent lamps that keep most of people (particularly the workers) alert which may go as far as the night time when sleeping time comes for most.
But with the introduction of new LED bulbs, these hue bulbs may yet address sleep-related issues. Apparently these bulbs contains red, green and blue LEDs where each level can be adjusted as can be seen with the Hue Bulb from Philips.
The bulb can reportedly be adjusted using a smartphone or a tablet into any preferred color within a room. Although the system doesn’t come cheap (reportedly around $200), their entry may yet address the light issues tied up with the sleep-problems that many people are dealing with.
