Does Scoliosis Originate from Improper Sleeping Positions
Published by Brian Yalung May 23rd, 2007 in How to sleep better, SLEEP News, Sleep Disorders, Sleep Myths.
Scoliosis is a common problem that people have in connection with their spine. Some people call it hereditary while other may attribute it towards posture. Actually, scoliosis is an abnormality that comes from deformity in the spine. Many would not value its worth but in reality, sleep has nothing to do with it.
People tend to associate it with sleep mainly because they feel that irritating feeling on their backs after sleeping in awkward positions. This is not usually the cause for incurring scoliosis. While backs may be strained, it is not really relevant since scoliosis would usually be aggravated during adolescent growth spurts.
