As a nanny, your main job is to look over the person you are looking after. Apparently, Jeff Kathrein was the assigned nanny to look over the late son of actor John Travolta.

Jeff had his own statements regarding what transpired on that fateful day. He even stated that Jett could sleep for 12 to 16 hours a day. But regardless, was that sufficient reason to leave a child on his own?

Here is a synopsis of his statement:

Jett, his family and his two nannies had been boating on Jan. 1. They returned to their townhouse at the Old Bahama Bay Hotel at around 6 PM. Jett was tired, went into his bedroom and went to sleep. Nanny Jeff Kathrein watched TV in the adjoining room. The other nanny, Eli, returned to the townhouse at around 11:30 PM. Both Jeff and Eli turned in at around that time. After Jeff got up [the next morning], he went into the bathroom and discovered Jett laying on the floor.”

Before you sleep, should you not check on the child? If you do the math there was sufficient time for Jeff Kathrein to check on Jett Travolta. That is now being disputed.

I didn’t know those nannies had such huge responsibility to John Travolta’s son. I can bet that there were hundreds of times they did check up on him. but the sad truth is only one time of non-checking is enough.

The man is heartbroken he is a family friend; he could have lied and said that he checked on him before he went to bed but he told the truth; theres no way he can be blamed for Jetts death he can only be blamed for not checking on him before he slept. It was a timebomb waiting to go off….let them all have some peace.
