
Smoking or smoke cessation has been known to be deadly for innocent people around smokers but apparently it seems that people with asthma may encounter some problems as well with smokers around. Kids exposed to tobacco smoke have been found to have a harder time sleeping, going as far as encountering behavioral problems and poor school performance.
Researchers say it’s likely that asthmatic children exposed to tobacco smoke have more night-time breathing problems, which in turn disrupts their sleep. Along with the effects of tobacco smoke on children’s airways, nicotine, a known stimulant may directly affect sleep patterns.
