  1. An underlying cause of epilepsy, if available (a brain tumour, etc.), must be treated and given priority. However, drug treatment to control an attack/ s of epilepsy remains the same, whether the patient suffers from a case of idiopathic epilepsy or symptomatic epilepsy, where though the cause has been detected, but nevertheless, drug treatment is needed.

What an odd, and unscientific, statement. If an underlying cause of epilepsy is found and treated why do you need drug treatment? Anti-epileptic medication have side effects you know.

    For example:
“Three of the patients became seizure free and the fourth patient had a greater than 95% reduction in seizure frequency following only the initiation of therapy for the sleep apnoea.”Vaughn et al., 1996 .

Would you recommend that the three who became seizure free should take medication? Why???
