Sleeping in Car Leads to Police Brutality

Let this be a warning for people who sleep in their cars. 59 year old Pamela Somerville ended up a bloody mess after being maltreated by a police officer for reportedly refusing to submit herself to a drink-drive test while sleeping in her car at a rural area near Wiltshire in July of 2008.

But the thing here is the car was not mobile and hence in a fixed state so why require a drunk test? Regardless, it seems that the police ended up concluding she was drunk owing to her awkward behavior while sleeping in her car.

Eventually it all turned ugly leading to an assault case on a certain Sgt. Andrews. Lesson? Be wary of where you sleep and be wary of getting into trouble with the authorities. You may end up a mess!

One Response to Sleeping in Car Leads to Police Brutality

  1. Larry Lessonteller says:

Sounds like Pamela should have complied with the officer’s lawful orders rather than resisting. I would be hard pressed to believe she didn’t put up physical resistance and assault the officer to end up looking like that. People should consider complying with law enforcement instructions or peaceably telling the police officer they do not wish to voluntarily submit to anything, ask for a supervisor, and if arrested seek legal counsel. Resisting will get you a beat-down, and a free ride to jail (possibly by way of the hospital).
