Sleeping in times of Disaster
Published by Brian Yalung August 24th, 2007 in Health Issues, SLEEP News, Sleep Issues.Remember the 9/11 issue where the whole mind-boggling issue of how the terrorists were able to carry out their plot of terrorism succeeded without being initially foreseen? Well, for one thing, we are all aware of tight security measures in the form of detectors and surveillance cameras are placed in most airports and buildings. But all of these are useless if you are sleeping on the job.
Such is the controversy that is now surrounding further investigations on the level of security measures that countries are implementing in their local airports. The two messengers of destruction were rumored to be seen even before the entire thing happened.
But thanks to some sleepy CIA guys, the result was the claiming of lives and overall destruction to a powerful country that was a picture of vulnerability. All it took was a split second and perhaps the 9/11 issue would have not happened at all.
