Sleepwalking Claims Life in Germany Tragedy

Sleepwalking was never thought of as dangerous. But if you live in a condominium or an apartment at a high floor level, you can just imagine how it can be dangerous. With the death of this 18 year old who climbed out of the window while sleepwalking, perhaps addressing sleepwalking disorders should now be taken more seriously.

An 18-year-old sleepwalker who climbed out of his bedroom window while asleep died of his injuries after falling seven storeys

His family, who had worried for years about his disorder, called emergency services at 5 a.m. Tuesday to their apartment block in the southern German city of Ulm after finding the youth seriously injured on the ground.

Sleepwalking or somnambulism is a condition where people, most often children and teenagers, leave their beds and move around with their eyes open while in a sleep-like state.
