Sleepy Drivers Behind the Wheel

There are times when you cannot avoid the need to go places or drive your car at certain hours of the night. While drivers normally know their capacity to drive a vehicle, it remains that they should know if they are able to drive without falling asleep along the way.
Apparently, there are sleep disorders suffered by some drivers. And if you put it all together, it is quite risky if you consider the fact that you may not know when you would fall asleep while driving. In fact, the study even shows some people who have memory lapses of not even knowing where they came from once they park their car after a long drive.
Hundreds of thousands of UK drivers could be suffering from an undiagnosed sleep disorder which puts them at risk of falling asleep at the wheel, an insurance company has warned.
Some 8% of drivers admit to having fallen asleep at the wheel, and 28% have been known to “microsleep”, meaning they cannot recall certain parts of their journey, according to a survey by esure motor insurance.
