The Dreaded Daylight Saving Time

Each year, people have to adjust accordingly towards the daylight savings time. Now that would be easy if you don’t follow a regular sleep schedule. But the truth of the matter is that it can affect some people who have been used to a certain time frame, their body clocks needing to adjust as well.

Considering that we already have our share of sleep deprived people, this is certainly not helping. With people already having trouble adjusting to sleep, getting an extra hour of dozing off does sound great. But in the long run it can affect you and normally, it can make a person groggy knowing that a shift in sleep schedule and getting up has to be undertaken.

“The fundamental problem we have in our current 24/7 society is that everyone is already somewhat sleep deprived,” says Patrick J. Strollo Jr., M.D., medical director of the University of Pittsburgh’s Sleep Disorder Program. “When we make even small adjustments in sleep schedules, that can have a negative impact.”
