Training Toddlers to Sleep Independently
0 Comments Published by Brian Yalung July 21st, 2008 in How to sleep better, SLEEP News, Sleep Cures, Sleep Education, Sleep Issues. As far as babies are concerned, many of us may perhaps have noticed that they sleep for most parts of their days. But the real question here is the time to which they will be sleeping. Apparently, for most new parents, this is something that they are unaware of. For the seasoned parents, it means that they will have to adjust accordingly to how their children would sleep. It also means that they should be open to some sleep disorders ahead.

But rather than sulking in agony, there are new practices to help regulate a baby’s sleeping cycle. The answer? Teach them to sleep on their own. It is called sleep training by some but if you know your way on how to be a parent, it is something you should check out.
For some parents, it may be hard. But just take it as a challenge in itself. Outside sleeping, it’s a form of teaching kids on how to be independent at their primal age. No one said it would be easy but if you master it, you will be surprised at other things that your child will learn later on.

Would you Get Your Baby this Downtime Organic Sleepytime Mask?
0 Comments Published by Brian Yalung May 31st, 2008 in How to sleep better, SLEEP Gadgets, SLEEP News, Sleep Issues, Sleep Wear.
We all know of this new sleeping enhancement called a sleep mask. However, we only know it to be applicable to the adults today as many sleep deprived individuals need these masks to assist them in sleeping better. But a infant sleeping mask? It is either for serious baby cases or perhaps something like a toy for them to wear when they sleep.
By its concept, here is what the makers of this Downtime Organic Sleepytime Mask wants to accomplish:
“Nurturing. Children learn that closing their eyes is one step in falling asleep.
Expressive. The closed eyelashes that detail the flip-down mask let others know not to disturb baby’s sleep. “
Point taken but would babies even bother to wear them? Wouldn’t it be uncomfortable? We all know that infants are not fond of being irritated or compromised when they are sleeping.
Perhaps the makers were just concerned with putting something in the market. For sure, this is something that does not make sense at all.

Babies Should Sleep Alone Campaign
0 Comments Published by Brian Yalung May 12th, 2008 in How to sleep better, SLEEP Gadgets, SLEEP News, Sleep Events, Sleep Issues.
Normally, parents would not want their babies to be left out alone when they sleep. However, due to the rising cases of baby deaths due to sleep, a campaign has been launched to provide awareness and added safety for infants who unknowingly become endangered species due to overlooked parenting tactics.
This is not really to take away anything from parents who want to provide only the best for their child. But there are limits and this includes looking out for the welfare of a child in terms of sleeping soundly.
“Our goal is to really help parents, grandparents, daycare providers and others be aware of the importance to putting babies to sleep in a safe environment, which is typically a bed of their own,” says Sharon Chesna from the Mothers and Babies Perinatal Network.
If a parent or caregiver wants the keep the child close, parents should move the crib near their bed.
