Drivers and some graveyard shift workers have been pinpointed as that of having sleep apnea problems but it seems you can add one more occupation to that list. Based on a study, it seems that the cops or the police are among the ones suffering from sleep apnea too. Just like round the clock workers, police personnel have their share of working on shifts as well. The study consisted of police officers participating in either an online or an on-site screening (n = 4,957) and monthly follow-up surveys (n = 3,545 officers) between July 2005 and December 2007 The study revealed that about 40.4% of the participating cops were found positive for the said sleep disorder. 33.6% of that were found positive for obstructive sleep apnea and 6.5% suffering from insomnia. Apparently the shifting issue can be singled out as the culprit. A change in the regular body clock does have dire effects and from the looks of it, even the cops are not spared. Let us hope though that the margin for error does not get imperiled by all of this too. Then again with consideration to your health, you may want to reconsider sleeping with your pooch once you hear this. Apparently Plague, a Category A bioterrorism agent may be inherited for such a practice. This developed after two cases in the United States last year were traced to people who slept with dogs. They suffered from severe illness which can be passed on to another person. Also, it triggers what planners bluntly term “public panic and social disruption” The culprit? It seems that fleas are to blame here. Though some people make it a habit to bathe their dog, fleas can act as carriers that include Y.pestis. These are normally contracted from rodents, creatures that your mutt are surely to be exposed too. The solution? Either buy your dog a flea collar, make sure he is properly bathed and disinfected or better yet, avoid sleeping with them altogether.
Beauty products are known to provide nourishment and care for your skin. But now it seems that some beauty products have a bearing when it comes to making anyone fall asleep. While I try hard to determine why, I can point out to their soothing relaxation as perhaps the culprit since we all know how relaxing it can get with the proper application and use of some beauty products in the market today. And there seems to be some collaboration on what these beauty products are targeting. Skin repair is thought of as one and of course the aroma which can really cast a spell and make you sleep in a snap. Among the beauty products which can contribute to good sleep include the following: The Night Treatment Bath Oil Tea Essence Body Treatment Mask (Source) Telegraph a aroma, bath oil, bearing, beauty products, collaboration, culprit, good sleep, Health Issues, mask, nourishment, proper application, relaxation, skin repair, Sleep Issues, Sleep Psychology, Sleep Therapy, snap, tea, telegraph
a

Obstructive Sleep Apnea has become a growing concern and while others try to look for a cure, some scientists continue to study and detect the cause by it. And apparently, there is one enzyme found to be the culprit of it all. The enzyme is known as the NADPH Oxidase. This was discovered by researchers from Emory University. Obstructive sleep apnea is stated to be a sleeping disorder which may be characterized by breaks or pauses in breathing during sleep. It has been estimated that 1 out of every 50 people may be suffering from this disorder in America. This disorder is believed to usually be treated with mechanical application of air pressure. Researcher C. Michael Hart, professor of medicine at Emory University School of Medicine and Atlanta Veterans Affairs Medical Center, says that blunting the effects of sleep apnea on the blood vessel physiology could perhaps be helpful in lowering its effect on the risk of diseases. These experts have further stated that by periodically providing less oxygen to rats in a way that simulates obstructive sleep apnea may give them pulmonary hypertension. This process of intermittently providing less oxygen is known as “chronic intermittent hypoxia.” It was further … Continue reading →
a

These experts have further stated that by periodically providing less oxygen to rats in a way that simulates obstructive sleep apnea may give them pulmonary hypertension. This process of intermittently providing less oxygen is known as “chronic intermittent hypoxia.” It was further noted that chronic intermittent hypoxia compels the lung blood vessels to produce more NADPH oxidase. Therefore the rats which don’t have the NADPH oxidase are believed to be resistant to the effects of hypoxia.
