Parents Warned on Baby Sleep Aids

If sleep aids are dangerous for adults then you can just imagine the impact they would have on infants. Such is a concern which has been called upon by Australian governments into making sure that parents are discouraged from using sleep aids.

In fact, 12 deaths have been already reported in the last 13 years. Sleep aids are marketed as a solution to supposedly aids parents in handling their baby problems. The most common type looks like a cushioned mat, with padding to lift the baby’s head, and bolsters to stop the baby from rolling onto its stomach.

If you believe the pitch, they can stop the baby from succumbing to sudden infant death syndrome, help with digestion to ease colic or gastroesophageal reflux disease – and even prevent flat head syndrome. Until baby sleep-aids are regulated for safety, parents are better off sticking to the basics when it comes to babies bedtime.

You just have to give DJ Moby a lot of credit for being wise despite his growing Insomnia problem. Perhaps learning from the fate of stars such as Michael Jackson, he refuses to take sleeping pills to aid him with his Insomnia. His reason is of course being addicted to them which as we all know has led to more deaths than remedies.

His insomnia problem is so bad that he often hallucinates through lack of sleep but says that he won’t turn to medication to solve his restlessness. Kudos to DJ Moby and perhaps the battle against Insomnia still continues. But for sure, there will be a solution but the only thing is when?

Purple Stuff Marketed with Wrong Words

The Purple Stuff, a drink that is supposed to relax people and help them sleep better for those who suffer from insomnia and jetlag, can get a lot of reprieve with the consumption of one just one can. But the manner of advertising leaves a lot to be improved as it has been hit from using controversial terms and slogans nearing the lines of misleading consumers.

“Drank,” “purple stuff” and “lean” are street terms for the mixture of codeine syrup with soft drinks or alcohol, a concoction that is believed to have factored in the deaths of three local rap stars. “Sippin’ syrup” is believed to have originated in Houston, and it remains a common topic for Southern rappers.
