For the people who want to sleep and not leave the lights on, here is a cool creation from Vanessa Hordies. It is a lamp that comes with an integrated hour glass which acts as the timer. The hourglass runs when you turn it over, carrying a 15 minute timer that is activated as the sound slowly trickles down.

This should be a great nightlight to have in the room, something that will automatically turn off when the timer is up. Designers built it around the notion that the average person takes between 10 and 20 minutes to fall asleep.

The Monolith: An Ancient Clock Concept

Here is another one of those crazy concepts that designers are coming up with. Called the Monolith, this is reportedly a clock that takes you back to the medieval ages. The Monolith is a block-based clock which has two sides that show the time.

Looking more of an art work, the Monolith can be designed using any color. It’s got an LEG display, polished surfaces (glass or plastic), an alarm function and is battery-operated. The Monolith should be a great clock you can place on your tables or furniture with proper placement areas.

A Wacky Cuckoo Clock

For the people who love odd stuff, here is a cuckoo clock that should fit the bill. This is actually a project put up over at the National Museum of Singapore by the Little Thoughts Group which will be up until January, 2011.

This is actually a clock of memories where it recalls the designers time as a child in 1970’s Singapore, where the sounds of growing up are now instilled inside the clocks works. The number “5″ is mirrored in the clock’s face because the designer had some mishaps with the number.

The white wind-up key is held on with a magnet and can open the clock body from the side. Inside the clock, you will find the batteries and some nice shelves.

SKOFF designers, inspired by characters from stories created for their own children and from story books for youngest children and by the most beautiful of cartoons, created a series of products ideally blending in with kids’ world, so that it may be a care-free world also at night. The lamps with their aesthetic appearance assumed the shape of Moon going to sleep, shining Starlet, or of a nice, pink Mouse.
