Sleep Deprivations Deprives Us Fulfillment
0 Comments Published by Brian Yalung June 9th, 2008 in Health Issues, How to sleep better, SLEEP News, Sleep Disorders, Sleep Issues.
As far as getting proper sleep is concerned, most people who have found themselves searching for it have obviously found themselves on the losing end and apparently are underachieving. This includes being successful in your career, work, and most of all, maintaining a healthy body and lifestyle.
People today are geared more towards doing more, meeting deadlines and sacrificing by pushing themselves to the limit. At first this does sound noble and something others should follow by example. But if you talk about putting yourself in high risk by leaving your body an open battlefield where diseases and illnesses can penetrate then that is another story.
You cannot expect to be fulfilled and successful if you do not rest and sleep. We can see this as our haggard bodies show something that is missing. If we do have problems with sleeping, a short visit to the doctor or specialist really wouldn’t hurt.
“For healthy people, there’s a big temptation to voluntarily restrict sleep, to stay up an hour or two or get up an hour or two earlier,” said Dr. Greg Belenky, director of the Sleep and Performance Research Center at Washington State University Spokane.
“But you’re really reducing your productivity and exposing yourself to risk,” Belenky added.

Health Attacks while Asleep
0 Comments Published by Brian Yalung April 21st, 2008 in Health Issues, How to sleep better, SLEEP News, Sleep Disorders.
If there is one thing that people would hate when it comes to dying, it is the issue of encountering diseases such as epilepsy or Sudden Unexpected Death Syndrome. The latter is often deemed as something that results from superstition but it is real. There are several ways to which people explain it such overeating or failure to digest what you eat. But overall, the fact remains that they are not purely superstition but a reality in some deaths of people who are asleep.
It is a form of unlikely ways to which people call a betrayal of sorts since we are powerless when they attack. While we try to avoid them, you just have to note that awake or not, sudden problems such as the Sudden Unexpected Death Syndrome will strike at the least time you know it.

No Age Limit for Sleep Apnea Victims
0 Comments Published by Brian Yalung February 2nd, 2008 in Health Issues, SLEEP News, Sleep Apnea.
We all know that once we reach a certain age, chances are they would feel safe and sound because they are constantly taking vitamins to keep their bodies safe from harms way. All except for sleep apnea that is. While old folks are expected to fare better due to boost in their immune systems, sleep apnea is something that really has to be looked up considering that they are hard to manage for most people today.
So just when you think you have passed the fences of diseases and illnesses, think ahead. If senior people have their share of coping up with them, you can just include sleep apnea to that list.
Researchers found that around half of healthy subjects over the age of 65 had a “respiratory disturbance index” of more than 15 events per hour, compared with only 5% of healthy subjects under 50. According to the study, many physicians consider 15 events per hour to be a clinically significant amount. Individuals who are untreated may develop an increased risk of cardiovascular disease, said study senior author Steven A. Shea, PhD, of Brigham & Women’s Hospital in Boston.

Lack of Sleep, Lack of Anti-Bodies, Dangerous Living…

It may sound like a broken record or even an elementary way of taking up health concerns, but again, not getting enough sleep will surely open up the body towards critical openings that will allow diseases and illnesses to set in. Worst, it may even lead to an early funeral for some, leading to a point where people may not have much time finding out what alternative courses of action should be considered to retain overall health.
Surely, this is a metaphor that only the sleep deprived patients can address. It is without question that people need sleep even if they tend to do the unlikely scenarios.

Medical Treatment can be hampered by Sleep Apnea
0 Comments Published by Brian Yalung August 31st, 2007 in Health Issues, Sleep Apnea, Sleep Disorders. For people who are seeking medical help, the issue of having sleeping disorders such as sleep apnea can stand in the way between getting better and addressing the said medical treatment. Known life threatening diseases such as Cancer usually need the proper medication.
This of course does not entirely cater towards the area of needing the proper amount of sleep alone. Ruling out the other potential complications such as sleep apnea induced heart problems is a necessity. Thus with this in mind, it is prevalent that all potent medical solutions and therapies have to be restrained since doing so may produce graver life threatening all the more.
