Although the AIRE Mask Concept was made to charge iPhones in a different manner, it may be a good thing to use as well when it comes to being productive when you are asleep. This is of course with the assumption that you have normal breathing patterns when in deep slumber, an area to which some people may have problems on. Regardless, the device makes use of small wind turbines to convert a person’s breath to electricity. Of course it looks like the mask can be used as well when you are awake but for some, it may not follow especially if you are easily irritated. Whatever the case may be, the concept seems like a dandy idea, an alternative for people seeking wise charging options for their device/s.
Come this weekend, November 6, do not forget to fix your clock’s time. Why? Well, Daylight Savings Time will officially end, meaning you have to turn back the hands of clock (at least if you did adjust them) to the regular hours. This only affects certain regions of course. This means that places like Hawaii, Arizona, Asia and most of Africa are not really affected by DST. In case you are wondering why the time adjustments are needed, DST has been an annual practice to help save energy. It was thought that by tacking on an extra hour of daylight in the afternoon, less electricity would be needed overall. So this also means you have to adjust to your sleep and wake up schedules as well. Hence, unless you want to wake up on the wrong side of bed, better consider adjusting your time pieces this weekend.
As the heavy sleepers continue to look for the right alarm clock, the answer may lie on the most annoying one you can find in the market. And if the Cicadidae Clock isn’t annoying, I don’t know what is. The clock was named after those annoying buzzing insects, the cicadas. This is an alarm clock concept from designer Jongwoo Choi which turns all gadgets around you as elements in getting you out of bed. With the unit placed near your bed, it makes use of neat graphics which incrementally take form as the set time to wake up nears. It comes with jacks that disconnect some parts of it from the main clock. There are four of these which seem to go into phones or stereo components that would look like ways of amplifying that annoying buzzing sound to wake you up. Bluetooth dongles feature small speakers which would need your electronic devices or appliances turned on to make it work. Though it may seem to waste some electricity, this is perhaps a great resort for the people who are really obnoxious when wake up calls are necessary.
