Due to an embarrassing issue, a former director of a mining company has filed a libel suit due to a sleepwalking issue. Apparently, Mr. Donal Kinsella sleepwalked naked and went into his secretary’s bedroom three times without being fully aware of what he was doing. The company, Kenmare Resources, eventually removed him from two key positions, insinuated that he had sexual impropriety and most of all was made the laughing stock of the company. Kinsella had been drinking and taking pain killers and had a habit of sleep walking and not wearing pajamas. Investigations however cleared Kinsella, claiming he had not consciously or deliberately walked into his secretary’s, Ms. Deirdre Corcoran, bedroom. The damage from the insinuations made through a press release persists to this day and has reportedly affects his everyday life.
Indeed it does seem sensible to find that bed habits may play a role in getting much needed sleep. Thanks to a four part series from the “Science of Sleep”, it seems that changing old bed habits (if ineffective) can lead to improved sleep. Eventually, it all boils down how once could sleep. And in this case, adding a spa to help soothe your nerves can also help. Yelo Spa in Manhattan for instance tries to put power back in power naps, something not all can solicit in everyday life. The facility tries to put the “power” back in “power nap” by using special chairs that put the sleeper in a zero-gravity position. And of course there are other alternatives like getting a sleep coach or the usual medications which seriously should be the last alternative of all.
Most employees and executives need to rest their minds to be able to focus on work, a large part of which makes up our day. Other than earning a living, a rested mind will help us make the right decisions and render the type of job that we were hired to be. You can see the poor performance from employees who have to beg off from work, go on sudden leaves because they either don’t feel well or lack sleep to be able to come to office. While this may or may not be done on purpose, people who work just have to adhere to the importance of sleep. There is no such thing as adopting the role of a robot since we are humans that can really break down if we are not careful. “Sleep interruptions such as stress and muscle cramp disturb this function and can be very detrimental to everyday life, making it impossible to be productive at work and maintain a positive attitude,” Chris Idzikowski, of the Edinburgh Sleep Centre who came up with the term, was quoted as saying by the Daily Mail newspaper of Britain.
