Short Naps are Good for the Heart
0 Comments Published by Brian Yalung December 9th, 2007 in Health Issues, How to sleep better, SLEEP News.
In the work place, employees are given breaks. Now during break times, chances are we would probably be eating or having a smoke somewhere. But for some people, this is a chance for them to steal some short naps while they are not working. While these signs may be pointing towards fatigue, the reality is each shuteye counts.
There are other people who would be seen dozing off even while sleeping. For sure this will catch the attention of co-employees or even superiors and may be a reason for a reprimand.
The chances of getting out of this bind are nil. However, there is a way to make an excuse, that is of stating that you are taking short nap and saying you are doing it for medical reasons.
While this may sound petty to some, expect that person to ask for a medical certification to support your claim. Better be sure you have one or it may be your neck!
(Source) The next time the boss finds you leaning back in your chair, feet up, eyes shut, tell her you’re napping for medical purposes.
Science won’t definitively back you up yet, but the evidence is mounting that a short afternoon nap, for an otherwise well-rested, healthy person, is good for the heart.

Daylight Savings Time Causes Sleep Problems
0 Comments Published by Brian Yalung November 12th, 2007 in SLEEP News, SLEEP Psychology.
Some may call it a mental problem but dealing with the daylight savings time that has been in effect today has some people suffering from sleep disorder issues encountering more problems. The transition from the old time to DST is really something that many deem as affecting the normal body clock of people. But then again, adjustments should be made to be able to get the proper amount of sleep.
People unaware of the time adjustments to daylight savings time would normally live their usual lives. The thing with people today is that adjusting is taken in vain. Just try ignoring this adjustment and there is really low to none adjustments if people so choose to do so.
Sleep can be considered a ‘change of shifts.’ There is the ‘awake’ day brain and the ’sleeping’ night brain. The transition or ’shift change’ from wakefulness to sleep normally takes approximately 10 to 20 minutes. The body needs time to properly shut down the ‘awake’ brain and activate the sleep cycles.”
“Many people with sleep disorders tend to rationalize their symptoms,” says Craig. “They believe fatigue is just part of growing older. Others think they are tired all the time because they are working too hard. Sleep issues are persistently ignored. Sleep studies can help identify the problem early.”

Lunisom: Laughter in Exaggerated Deep Sleep
0 Comments Published by Brian Yalung July 19th, 2007 in Health Issues, How to sleep better, SLEEP Fun, SLEEP Video, Sleep Humor, Sleeping Pills. The thing about people who want to sleep, they want to sleep for a longer period of time. Such remarks may be heard here and there and obviously, this can be attributed to over-fatigue or being battered at work and all.
While the cliché may be funny, some people just cannot stop thinking of funny commercial spoofs that can break out a laugh. Such was the one made by Lunisom, a supposedly total knockout for people who want deep sleep when they get the chance.
