High Blood Pressure Linked to Less Sleep
0 Comments Published by Brian Yalung August 19th, 2008 in Health Issues, How to sleep better, SLEEP News, Sleep Issues.
As far as enumerating which health risk factors are associated with sleeping less, you can place elevated blood pressures to be at the helm of it all. Logically, less sleep means higher abuse to our bodies and heading the pack of high risk body systems include the cardiovascular system to which blood pressures can lead to problems with the heart and other cardio organs as well.
There are a lot of things to consider as to why a person would stay up late or sleep less:
1. Work or Studies
2. Lifestyle choices
3. Hardships in sleeping
4. Presence of electronics or gadgets
5. Too much alcohol or vices
In all, these are common things that a person has to deal with. But if a person wants to lead a healthy life, sleep must be valued better. Among them include ensuring all these obstacles are not around as much as possible when you enter your bedroom to sleep soundly.

Turning off the Light Sources from Gadgets Help You Sleep
0 Comments Published by Brian Yalung August 5th, 2008 in How to sleep better, SLEEP News, Sleep Disorders, Sleep Issues.
Some people leave certain gadgets on and we all know that one small light source will always be visualized and these can be a source of distraction. While this can be a means to know where your gadgets are at, they will not go anywhere. Especially if you are in your room, you are sure to see them before and after you sleep. But the thing to be stressed here is SLEEP!
Regardless of how small that light indicator is, here is a good device to warn you and serve as a finder on where it may be. Just remember, you don’t need them when you sleep. You need to eliminate the light sources so you can be able sleep properly and enjoy them when it is time to get up.
Displayed is a LED-illuminated wireless router. LEDs can be useful indicators of what state a gadget it is in — or where to find it — but they also bug people who’d rather not have lights shining in their faces when they’re trying to sleep or watch movies.

Too Much Junk Sleep Costs A Lot
0 Comments Published by Brian Yalung June 21st, 2008 in Health Issues, How to sleep better, SLEEP News, Sleep Disorders.
Just when you think that the sight of a sleeping person is something to envy from, it would be best to consider the quality of sleep that he or she is getting. Ideally, we all know that great sleep comes from no vice at all meaning nothing in mind and nothing to distract us. With the mounting pressures of crisis and gadgets sprawled anywhere, it would be interesting to note how people can rate their sleep and diagnose if it is indeed true or shallow sleep.
This is apparent today for most people. We fail to define the essence of true sleep. Some of us feel that we are sleeping comfortably but at the back of our minds, we may just be telling that to ourselves. There are too many distractions and these will surely be realized in the long run.
And even people who appear to be fast asleep in bed aren’t sleeping properly. Fifteen million of us have been diagnosed as having “junk sleep” - the poor quality slumber that is apparently the result of too much work and having a bedroom filled with TVs, computers and BlackBerrys.
At a recent conference on insomnia at the Wellcome Trust, sleep experts argued that what has really changed is not so much our sleep, but our attitude to it. We worry about how much - or little - we’re getting in a way that we never used to.

The Uninterrupted Sleep You Demand
0 Comments Published by Brian Yalung February 10th, 2008 in How to sleep better, Sleep Disorders, Sleep Issues.
As far as getting the much required sleeping hours, a lot of people would pay big bucks to know the secrets. But the question would if it would be necessary? Normally, we treat sleep disorders such as sleep apnea and insomnia as rash and serious but when you think about it, much of the problem may be due to our doing.
One common thing we can point to is the presence of gadgets that pose more of distractions and temptations rather than sleeping aids. Television and the usual noisy component which you can tune up at any time you wish are just some of the common things that can keep us awake when we feel like it.
So what am I getting at? Well for starters, sleep can be achieved with proper evaluation of ourselves beforehand. There are far more serious problems today but normally, we just have to trace the roots that allowed them to bloom as big problems we face today.
Since sleep deprivation can contribute to loss of productivity and crash your immune system, getting an uninterrupted night’s sleep is a luxury you shouldn’t pass up. One of the key tips requires discipline: put your clock on the bottom shelf. That way, the glow of the digital electronic display would not shine in your face and keep you up at night. By relocating your clock to a different area of your nightstand, if you do wake up, you’ll be less stressed out that you’re losing out on that important sleep.
