You would think that insomnia would hit only the adults no thanks to their own doing. Some inherit them due to their preference to stay awake and sleep when they feel like it. However it seems that this is not the true case of where insomnia originates.

In fact a 4 year old girl has been discovered to be suffering from insomnia in Britain, often awake by midnight despite a structured bedtime routine. And while many would say that parents or specialists could teach their kids how to practice sleeping patterns but apparently the case is a lot serious than that.

Older Women Sleep More, Exaggerate Insomnia More

Older women are believed to have more sleep issues than older men but did you know that they complain more? Weird as it may seem, sleep deprivation has been bugging both genders but of the two, a research finds that women are actually getting better sleep than men.

Through a study participants kept a sleep diary and wore a device called an actigraph on their wrists to determine their sleeping behavior and sleep patterns. And afterwards, the actigraphs themselves revealed that men actually had less sleep than women at 6 ½ hours. Women slept 15 minutes more.
