Good Reasons Not to Live Near an Airport
0 Comments Published by Brian Yalung February 13th, 2008 in Health Issues, How to sleep better, SLEEP News.
Planes flying by and landing at certain times of the day can be a big problem especially if you live nearby an airport. For sure, it is already a given that you will have a hard time sleeping and adjusting to the noise that these air crafts produce. But while not being able to sleep is already an issue, it may escalate as far as affecting our blood pressure levels due to the lack of sleep.
As we can see, there is more to meets the eye when you talk about losing sleep. But when you talk about health problems coming into the picture, you have to take it to another level and try to analyze and determine how your health can manage all the stress and lack of sleep from it all.
“We know that noise from air traffic can be a source of irritation, but our research shows that it can also be damaging for people’s health, which is particularly significant in light of plans to expand international airports,” co-author Dr. Lars Jarup, from the Department of Epidemiology and Public Health at Imperial College London, said in a prepared statement.

Using Sleep Calculators
0 Comments Published by Brian Yalung January 25th, 2008 in How to sleep better, SLEEP Psychology.
Can you really use computing to get the proper amount of sleep? Whether you are doing it manually or using this sleep calculator, chances are you are losing sleep regardless of how you look at it. Well some people believe it can be. But you have to consider that sleep should be a natural thing. You cannot use logic to substitute what science deals with regarding sleep issues.
Most people would agree that nothing beats the common belief that sleep should be 6 to 8 hours of our normal body clock. We owe it to ourselves to rest and if we want to lessen health risks and make sure we are always productive, we should consider the fact that sleep is something we cannot compromise with in any degree.

Managing Sleep through Mental Preparations
0 Comments Published by Brian Yalung October 27th, 2007 in How to sleep better, SLEEP Psychology.
With all the excitement and thinking that we would all normally find ourselves at some point, losing sleep or not being able to sleep at all is a normal expectation. We just normally want to know results as they come and until we fulfill that satisfaction, going to sleep can really be a drag.
People with things running in their mind would normally feel uneasy and restless. With these factors present, the chances of getting quality sleep is totally close to nil.
There are some psychological factors to which people can mold their minds and beliefs. Calming themselves through perhaps reading a book, watching television or listening to music can help. These are the known things that can get their mind of whatever it is they are thinking.
Whichever the case may be, it may sound mental but this is really the truth of it all.

Save Water and Sleep Better
0 Comments Published by Brian Yalung July 12th, 2007 in How to sleep better, SLEEP Video, Sleep Humor, Snoring. When a person wants to finally sleep after a hard day, peace and quiet will always be at the foremost of his mind. Unlikely sounds such as dripping faucets can be irritating and may be a cause for losing sleep or not sleeping at all.
All it takes is a little effort. People may be too lazy to get up or find alternative ways to get their mind of sleeping. But technically, just check out what the noise is, remedy it and go to sleep.
Just look at how Bert and Ernie handle such problems in this classic from Sesame Street.
