0 Comments Published by Brian Yalung November 20th, 2008 in How to sleep better, SLEEP News, Sleep Issues.
Simmons bedding has been known to unveil an aggressive array of mattresses over the months to boost its sales. But one line of mattress that is bound to draw a lot of attention is this partnership that they had gotten into with Dow Chemical Company using selected bio-based foam made with natural oil-based polyols created via RENUVA™ Renewable Resource Technology.
The materials used in mattresses does indeed play a vital role in delivering quality sleep and respite and from the looks of it, this new eco-friendly bedding line from Simmons Bedding Company is bound to settle most of these issues.
“RENUVA makes it possible for the Natural Care collection to be even more eco-friendly while allowing us to maintain the quality, comfort and durability that consumers associate with Simmons products. It is wonderful to see that major companies like Dow are recognizing the need for environmentally responsible options, and we look forward to the sustainable solutions Dow will develop in the future.”

One thing about people these days, when you find yourself constantly traveling, you are totally clueless as far as to the type of sleep or where you can find respite on the way or at your point of destination. But while the bed or mattress may be in question, pillows that can aid you and perhaps make up for the lack of comfort can be used.
The Curvy Pillow Company has unveiled a 3-Piece Set of Curvy Pillow Covers instantly turns your pile of rectangles into a world of curvy comfort that includes a Curvy Backrest, Curvy Head Pillow, and Curvy Body Pillow. Add to the fact that they are made from soothing materials that can more than assure you of good sleep wherever you may find yourself in.
Curvy Transformational Pillow Covers are made of 100% cotton (organic cotton also available) and will transform your ordinary pillows into 3 new functional supports:
- A Curvy Backrest that supports your head, back, and arms, for reclining, reading and watching television in bed.
- A Curvy Head Pillow that is oval and can easily adjust, spin and flip without falling out of its case.
- A Curvy Body Pillow that is the most like a human body and offers support exactly where you need it.

Evaluate the Comfort of Sleep Number Beds through Hotels
0 Comments Published by Brian Yalung July 27th, 2008 in How to sleep better, SLEEP Gadgets, SLEEP News, Sleep Cures.Sleep number beds have so far been tagged as the best way to get sleep. But the problem is that people may not be that willing to buy them just yet unless they get to prove to themselves that they are good for it. With that in mind, how can anyone measure the degree of comfort they can offer?
Well take it from this couple. The long for the quality sleep just like most but they did not buy the Sleep Number Bed initially. Posh hotels such as the Plaza Hotel offer such beds and while it may be a limited stay, it is more than enough to help you in evaluating if it is indeed worth the investment. It is amazing how one button can make the difference in getting quality sleep from a quality bed.

Luckily, a breakthrough mattress on the market this week promises the ultimate personalized sleep experience. And believe me - when it comes to comfort, this bed is king.
Six inches of air chambers make up the heart of the mattress, while a 3-inch top layer of slow-response memory foam cradles your body and soothes pressure points.
Best of all, with the push of a button, a Firmness Control System adjusts the firmness on each side of the bed on a scale of 0 (feather soft) to 100 (firmest of all).
The Sleep Number bed’s price tag is pretty steep (starting at $3,200), but it’s the ultimate personalized sleep experience. The air chamber technology adjusts the firmness on each side of the mattress to meet day-to-day changes in your body.

Employees Need More Naps
0 Comments Published by Brian Yalung June 20th, 2008 in Health Issues, How to sleep better, SLEEP News, Sleep Business.
In a world where you just have to live wiser and perform according to what companies are paying you for, employees need to know when they should also reach the point of overdoing it. It is true that employees would be wise to know when to take a break, short naps that can help them maintain their level of efficiency when they are on the job.
Allowing employees to nap is fine but while many companies are hesitant due to abuse, here are some reasons why employees need naps:
Here are five tips from 1800mattress.com consultants on how to improve Sleep Quality without changing Sleep Quantity:
Sleep Schedule: Try your best to stay on a regular pattern of going to sleep and getting up to within a one-hour window for consistency.
Wind Down Routine: Establish a regular routine to follow before sleep to help train the body to wind down and to prepare for sleep. Avoid bringing laptops, blackberries, etc., into the bedroom to limit distractions.
Sleep Temperature: Try to have your bedroom between 65-70 degrees as cooler environments are more conducive to prolonged sleep and can minimize sleep disturbances through the night.
Limit Distraction: If you must watch TV, have it on a sleep timer. Try and keep the room as dark and quiet as possible. Turn alarm clocks so you can’t see their glow as the urge to check the time can add to stress and disturb rest.Inspect your mattress: If it squeaks, you wake up with back pain, toss and turn at night, sleep better away from home, etc., it’s probably time for a new mattress. The item most depended on to provide restorative sleep could be the biggest reason you are not getting it. Mattresses should be replaced every 5-7 years.
