One would think that with the growing problem of co-sleeping with infants, adults and parents would be more careful and take it more sensibly. But with new reports of co-sleeping casualties for November, this doesn’t seem to be the case. There were two separate incidents reported. One had to do with Yasmine Y. Ashley, a 1.5 month infant who turned unresponsive after sleeping alongside her mother and the mom’s said boyfriend. According to the Medical Examiner’s Office report, “the deceased was placed on her back, next to her mother, fed and fell asleep, in the full sized bed. When her mother’s boyfriend came to bed at 2:00 a.m., the deceased appeared to be ‘OK.’ ” “The deceased was on one side of the bed, mom was in the middle, and mother’s boyfriend slept on the other side of the bed. When the deceased mother awoke for a feeding at 4:30 a.m., the deceased was still supine, with blood coming from her mouth and nose.” The other had to do with a certain Demirrion L. Washington, 2.5 months old who died when she was sleeping alongside her mother and sister. The mom went for a shower and when she came back, … Continue reading →
a

One would think that with the growing problem of co-sleeping with infants, adults and parents would be more careful and take it more sensibly. But with new reports of co-sleeping casualties for November, this doesn’t seem to be the case.

While both parties tried to seek help, everything was apparently too late. These are just some of the case reported for November which many of you mothers out there may want to seriously consider.

It is understandable that many parents want to have their babies by their side but be wary of the risks since in these cases, it is apparent that it is a matter of life and death.

The intake of various herbal medicine or unknown remedies to help cure sleep deprivation are no different from the usual health-related issues we have. But as far as medication is concerned, unknown meds should still come with the necessary prescription to avoid problems in the long run which may even cost you your life. Such is the issue of the illegal herbal pill called estazolam which had claimed the life of Michael Berggen who died in a single vehicle roll-over two years ago. The only thing the Canadian authorities have gathered is that it is dangerous but as far as origin is concerned, they are just dumbfounded right now. The veteran trucker and father of four was making his first run of the morning on Boxing Day, 2006, when he drove out of Hines Creek, 560 kilometres northwest of Edmonton, lost control of his tandem truck, hit a snowbank and rolled. He wasn’t wearing his seatbelt and died at the scene. The medical examiner later discovered estazolam in his blood – a rare, powerful tranquilizer which can cause drowsiness and dizziness. It’s not clear what role the drug played in his death, if any, but Provincial Court Judge McIntosh presided … Continue reading →
a
