This covers the gray area of the brain which could affect the attention and memory of a human being. The claim points to possibly lack of air where people who have sleep apnea may possibly stop breathing. A small Italian study of 17 patients with OSA and 15 age-matched controls found reduced gray matter in the OSA group in several key regions of the brain connected with abstract reasoning and executive function, along with deficits in the left cortex, which were shown to be linked to daytime sleepiness. However, the brain changes are partially or fully reversible with early detection and treatment with continuous positive airway pressure (CPAP) Read a abstract reasoning, airway pressure, brain changes, cognitive function, cognitive functions, cortex, daytime sleepiness, gray area, gray matter, human body, italian study, memory, osa group, regions of the brain, sleep, Sleep Apnea, Sleep Disorders, Sleep Issues, SLEEP News
a

Additionally, women were found to be suffering 1.5 times more than men. In those numbers too, children are included. China has a population of 19 million and you can just imagine a percentage of that having to deal with such issues. Doctors have warned about the side effects of sleep deprivation, which can cause car accidents, depression, anxiety and cardiovascular problems. Studies also show that sleep disorders affect people’s memory, emotions and learning ability. The report was shared in relation to the celebration of World Sleep Day which fell on a Sunday.

Sleep Apnea victims be forewarned. It seems that sleep apnea will do more than deprive you of sleep. Knowing that the brain will be severely affected by obstructive sleep apnea, it seems apparent that the more serious it grows, so does your health. Brain damage is being wooed as the possible result from continuous sleep apnea due to reduced concentrations of gray matter in the brain. A gray matter refers to the brain’s cerebral cortex, where the majority of information processing takes place. These changes in brain structure may help explain the memory, cardiovascular and other problems experienced by people with obstructive sleep apnea (OSA). The researchers said further research is needed to determine whether reduced gray matter concentration is caused by sleep apnea, or whether preexisting abnormalities contribute to the development of the problem.
It has been common logic for most of us to play some music to sleep and while we sleep. The first is of course to lull us to sleep while the second is to relax us and get our minds as calm as possible. But it seems that the latter seems to do more than that. Playing music while sleeping has been said to improve memory, especially for students who are preparing for an exam or test the next day. Scientists at Northwestern University report that playing specific sounds while people slept helped them remember more of what they had learned before they fell sleep, to the point where memories of individual facts were enhanced. Playing music while sleeping has been known to reap some rewards. This was normally practiced for babies in the developmental stages. Apparently it works further than that. I wonder if it works on older people too? With a clock normally at their side, here is one which comes with a virtual memo pad where you can jot things down to remember once you get up in the morning. The first thing that a person would normally look at when he wakes up is the clock. So this time, you may be reminded of something you should do. Just make sure you don’t have a lot of them since you may end up figuring out what exactly you have to do or worse, decide to save it for later when your memory comes to. A bit no no! So rather than have that ringing sound in your head, why not lean towards a new kind of alarm clock that uses chimes to tingle your memory? Provided you aren’t hard to wake up, there’s no reason you shouldn’t wake up in a pleasant manner. As opposed to that obnoxious beeping that always rudely wakes you up. With this alarm clock you could wake up to the wind chimes instead of a beep. This product is not affiliated with Sleepzine. By sleep-eating, we are referring to people who eat something while they are actually asleep. However all of these were made possible thanks to sleeping drugs that some people may take. We have heard of side-effects but this one is really something that many should take seriously, particularly the sleep deprived and insomniacs. The pharmacologists note that Zolpidem’s ability to stimulate the frontal lobe of the brain, particularly in the semicomatose state, may be responsible for its adverse effects like sleep-walking or other activity while asleep, such as driving, making phone calls or having sex, with no memory of doing any of it.
No one knows what sudden change of odors may soon set on the place where you are sleeping. It can be your room or perhaps outdoors when you decide to rough it. Either way, did you know that these aroma issues have a bearing on what you can potentially dream about once you doze off? Just take the whole idea of bad odors in the simplest way and perhaps you could perceive that you are in for something bad when you sleep. It may sound fictitious but not according to the German researchers who have found that sleepers exposed to an unpleasant smell will have negative dreams. Because our sense of smell involves such a sensitive and neurologically complex function, and because it’s so powerful in its influence on our behavior, it’s not surprising at all that so many scientists have studied the effect of different scents on emotion, memory, appetite, energy, and sexual arousal. So the next time around, try to do something about an unpleasant odor. It can make a difference between nightmares and sound sleep.

When we are dreaming, there is a certain part of our mind and being which is aware and conscious, yet some other parts of the brain that are completely at rest. Experts suggest that various types of dreams exist, that range form the dreamer not being in his or her own dream (dreams of childhood) to one where the dreamer is actively reflecting upon the ongoing dream and making deductions and judgments on the events happening in the dream (lucid dreams). This is an interesting lead to the contemplation about the distinction between dreams and reality.
