And normally when you think about it, a child’s cry at night may somewhat serve as a measuring stick of sorts on how good a parent takes care of their child, regardless if it is funny or not. Apparently the Why Cry Baby Analyzer is a colourful device which should somehow tell you how well you take care of your child and attend to their needs especially during the wee hours. The said device is clinically certified, and boasts a 90 percent accuracy rate and works using a microphone by comparing a baby’s crying power, frequency and crying intervals against an already established pattern and then provides you with the results in 20 seconds or less. While babies are known to have inconsistent sleeping patterns, it all comes on how well you take care of them.
In something surprising, one would think that a new mom would be having the problems of being able to adjust to their new life with a newborn in tow. But perhaps this would depend on your lifestyle when you were off without kids, something similar to the case of celebrity Lisa Loeb. Her shift on giving her newborn, Lyla Rose, seems to have been better compared to before. Prior to being a mom, Loeb slept at about 3AM until 9AM. Apparently her new focus has improved her sleep problems for the better and with less stress as she embraces parenting while taking on minor roles like voice over gigs. Obviously proud of her daughter, this is perhaps a unique instance where a mother has made a choice that not only helps her mature but likewise address sleep issues that soon-to-be mothers will be facing. A rare case but perhaps something others can look up to.
Apparently, parenting can be a nuisance if you don’t know how to handle your kids and get them to bed on time. Especially if they have these distractions such as computer games, gadgets or even have friends over, chances are even you may lose sleep with all the racket that they may be making. So how do you deal with them? The key is to set some rules when its time to hit the sack. No playing of games or even placing them outside the room towards a neutral place in your home would be nice. Also, the usual lights out can always do the trick as kids constrained in the dark can force them to sleep as they have nothing else to do to distract them. Some kids may have nightmares from trauma from these practices. But you can do some things to turn them into dreams. Just set your rules and stand by them. It may be hard for parents with soft-hearts but health and good sleep is bound to be the best result to negate all of it.
Normally, parents would not want their babies to be left out alone when they sleep. However, due to the rising cases of baby deaths due to sleep, a campaign has been launched to provide awareness and added safety for infants who unknowingly become endangered species due to overlooked parenting tactics. This is not really to take away anything from parents who want to provide only the best for their child. But there are limits and this includes looking out for the welfare of a child in terms of sleeping soundly. “Our goal is to really help parents, grandparents, daycare providers and others be aware of the importance to putting babies to sleep in a safe environment, which is typically a bed of their own,” says Sharon Chesna from the Mothers and Babies Perinatal Network. If a parent or caregiver wants the keep the child close, parents should move the crib near their bed.
