Now they Are Charging for Pillows in Flights?
0 Comments Published by Brian Yalung August 4th, 2008 in How to sleep better, SLEEP Gadgets, SLEEP News, Sleep Issues.
We know that all companies these days are being hit hard by the economic crisis and while it is normal to ask pillows and blankets as a form of privilege for riding in flights, some are now charging an extra $7 for people who may want them on flights.
JetBlue has reportedly partnered with CleanBrands in offering pillows and blankets to passengers but will be charging an extra $7 for them. If you look at it, this approach may not sit well with passengers. Sleeping soundly is one thing but to pay additional to get it on flights is another. It looks like a rip-off for some who would rather use their coat or soft baggage to sleep on and as far as blankets are concerned, jackets will do.
The price to pay for sleeping on flights is really something people can surely do without. And paying additional is certainly something that some passengers may not find as something that will help them sleep soundly.

0 Comments Published by Brian Yalung March 2nd, 2008 in How to sleep better, SLEEP News, Sleep Business, Sleep Cures, Sleep Disorders, Sleep Issues.
In a nutshell, which sane person would not be interested in getting a perfect night’s sleep? This is something that is pretty much in demand all over the world and with an obvious demand for this unusual need, most companies have turned to various remedies such as pills, pillows, machines, therapies and massages to at least get closer to the actual needs of people today.
Sleep is not a common commodity that you can simply take out of the shelf. People know this and artificial remedies to something natural as sleep will surely be something many would-be customers will truly be wary of.
Dubbed “sleeponomics,” companies across America are trying to sell us a perfect night’s sleep with pills, pillows, white noise machines, aromatherapy, massage, acupuncture and more. And it’s fast-becoming a $20 billion-a-year industry.

The Pillows You Can Sleep On
0 Comments Published by Brian Yalung December 25th, 2007 in How to sleep better, SLEEP News, SLEEP Psychology, Sleep Education.
So much has been said on how to sleep properly. Many have taken on the areas of beds and mattresses, sleeping positions and proper observance of sleeping hours. But there is still one area of sleep which many would never have thought would be of importance. And this area is the pillows we use to lay our heads on or simply cuddle to make us gain that longing slumber we always look for.
Most focus on other aspects of sleeping. For most, pillows don’t have much use when sleep is being tackled. But with this excerpt, perhaps people with sleeping problems may want to check out if pillows can make a difference the next time they sleep.
(Source) “I have back issues and neck issues,” says Jones, 46, of Selma, Calif. “I’ve gone through a gazillion pillows. The solution for me was a wedge and synthetic pillow. I put those two together, and that seems to help me the most.”
But what works for her won’t necessarily work for you. Pillows now come in a number of shapes. You also have several other options, from the materials that fill the pillows to the fabrics that cover them. But finding the ones that will fit your sleeping habits might require some sleepless nights.
“With pillows, there is a lot of personal testing,” says Jones, coordinator of Saint Agnes Medical Center’s Diagnostic Sleep Lab in Fresno, Calif. “What works for one person isn’t going to work for another.”

Avoid Infant Suffocation at Sleep
0 Comments Published by Brian Yalung August 3rd, 2007 in Health Issues, How to sleep better, SLEEP Video, Sleep Issues.Children are normally expected to enjoy the company of toys and stuffed ones to be by their side on their crib or at bed. However, parents should take note that there are certain hazards that must be taken into consideration such as suffocation which may arise if a child is unable to move freely from the presence of excessive pillows and stuffed toys.
It is good to see babies enjoy and play with them. But when it comes to sleeping time, it is best to make sure that they have proper space to breathe.
