There is no question that people love pets. But other than perhaps carrying potential germs and a matter of questioning their hygiene, it is apparent that to get the best sleeping state possible, keep them out of your bed or the house when it is bedtime. Pets are entirely different from the habits of humans. They do not sleep at the same time where an individual does. So if you want to be assured that you can get the right amount of sleep, it is best to address the issue of doing away with the distractions that can deprive you of the proper sleeping habits. A survey of 300 sleep-disorder patients at Minnesota’s Mayo Clinic Sleep Disorders Center revealed that nearly 60 per cent let pets sleep in the bedroom, while a quarter allowed pets in their bed at night. Of those, 53 per cent had their sleep disrupted every night. Meanwhile, 21 per cent of dog owners complained about their minions’ snoring.
There are a lot of people homeless these days and for sure, they are deprived of the proper sleeping habits mainly because they find themselves in strange places without the benefit of an ideal sleep setting. For the fortunate people like us, we do not have the luxury of understanding such inconvenience. But this cause being made via the Fourth Annual Siouxland Sleep-Out at the Lewis and Clark Park on November 7 should help give us an idea of just how the people without homes manage to sleep despite such outdoor conditions. There are around 21,000 homeless people in Iowa, according to Wood, and about 600 of them live in Siouxland. He said he expects those numbers to continue to grow due to flooding in eastern Iowa and the staggering economy. “Poverty is the basic reason for homelessness, and certainly the poverty level increases as a result of the economy,” he said. “There’s got to be some trickle-down effect for that.” (Source) Sioux City Journal a benefit, economy, homeless people, homelessness, How to sleep better, inconvenience, lewis and clark park, poverty level, proper sleeping habits, sleep, Sleep Events, Sleep Issues, SLEEP News, strange places
a

The Mobile Sleep Solution Centers — 53-foot trailers with private bedrooms and bathrooms and fully functional control rooms for sleep technicians, hauled by International trucks — were unveiled June 19 at the Boulder, Colo., campus of healthcare-products giant Covidien as part of the company’s Sleep Wellness program. Covidien is a maker of the continuous positive air pressure machines that are widely prescribed in controlling apnea. By gently blowing air into the sleeper’s nose through a face mask, CPAP machines keep the airways open and allow healthy, uninterrupted sleep.
When it comes to trying to make up for lost sleep, you should not really rush it in the way that most people believe it can be. The thing is, proper sleeping habits can only be achieved the natural way and time is sure to be a critical element towards putting your sleeping habits back towards its regular state. Today, if you are not properly rested, sleep will come back to haunt and collect in the form of deteriorating health. It is a given that people today value sleep unlike before. Being productive is one thing but not being able to sleep in the way that people are traditionally known to be can lead to dire consequences which at most can damage health concerns for people today. Sleeping too little messes with your mind and hurts your body. Sleep not only makes you feel sharp and rested; it seems to play a key role in how the brain sorts out information and lays down long-term memories. And a lack of sleep has been associated with maladies ranging from cardiovascular disease to depression the CDC says. When it comes to trying to make up for lost sleep, you should not really rush it in the way that most people believe it can be.
