Back in the good old days, people didn’t have the luxury of easily buying a radio due to cost. Also unlike today, the manufacturers were not as rampant. But thanks to some courses, people were able to come up with radios on their own, assembling them using discarded wood and putting their electronic engineering to good use just to be able to listen to news and/or music. Today this may be a rarity but for some people, the practice lives on. And such has produced this Steampunk Cigar Box Digital Alarm clock with a lamp as well, all made from repurposed materials, including a cigar box. Other features include a 40W bulb which are controlled by a full-range center-mounted dimmer control, allowing you to use this as either a soft night-time reading lamp or a nightlight at your bedside. The digital alarm clock is embedded and are operated by controls you will find on top of it. The clock controls are acorn nuts, used to set the time/alarm minutes and seconds, and a toggle switch to enable/disable the alarm. Instructions for use come with the piece.
Lego is at it again! We have seen flashlights and cameras and now they have Lego Radios! At first glance you will know immediately that this is a Lego-based radio. But apparently, do you know if it is a radio? It takes the shape of any modern Lego Brick which should be a great add for the kids room who play with them most of the time. It features the usual volume knobs and tuner controls, with AM/FM radio and a snooze feature. Unlike real LEGOs this requires 4 AA batteries. Just make sure you tell your kids that it is a clock radio though since they may hurl and toss it as they would for any normal Lego toy brick.
When it comes to sleep and taking naps, the right pillow is the best way to get it done. And fortunately, there is a great pillow that you can try out over the traditional ones. It is called the Sound Asleep Pillow. The Sound Asleep Pillow is a great invention which if you enjoy listening to music and also sleeping then you will really enjoy this. The Sound Asleep Pillow has a built in speaker which you can connect to your iPod, other MP3 players, CD players and most radios. With this you get surround sound music straight to your ears whilst you drift off to sleep or even just while you rest your eyes. If you find it hard to get to sleep this could really help having some low level music or a sound of your choice playing in the background. Another plus to this great gadget is that if you want to listen to music or the radio you can without disturbing your partner when they are asleep. The Sound Asleep Pillow is a lot easier to get to sleep with than trying to listen with earphones in which tend to be very uncomfortable.
