Good sleep has been a casualty of modern lifestyles. It’s little wonder that more and more people are suffering from sleep disorders and the poor health associated with it. We Arabs, just like Spaniards and Italians and other Mediterranean countries, used to make the siesta a sacred part of our day. What a shame the habit is being weeded out of our culture.

We all work 5 days a week. 6 if you are in the service sector. But overall, the issue on whether a holiday break or weekend would help us regulate sleep or at least be able to get back to our regular sleeping patterns is something that many would want to know. For sure, breaks are much needed for people who have to work a lot during the week. But as far as sleep is concerned, it can regulate and nourish sleep once again but apparently not fully. Regeneration and rejuvenating our strength at these times is something welcome and perhaps refreshing. But as far as making it a habit, perhaps it would be best to consider that once Monday is here, you may be back to following the same old chaotic sleep deprivation mess. Mondays welcome well-rested employees for sure. But while that may mean production on a new energy, there are people who may not necessarily welcome Mondays with open arms. Some people may find the weekend all too enjoying that they want more of it. If there is something about vacations and weekends, it is the matter of not getting too much of it. Sleep is essential … Continue reading →
a

Sleep is essential and perhaps it is safe to say now, the proper amount of sleep and when not to get too much of it is an issue. Sleep has affected us both mentally and as a whole. Perhaps a disciplined mindset as well as regular health check-ups can ensure that we get the proper sleeping hours due for a normal human being.

All people long for sleep. The common belief among humans is that the longer that one sleeps the better relaxation and overall regeneration of tired bodies it will be. While some do sleep beyond the usual normal sleeping hours of 8, others may find them totally lazy and become less productive than what they would usually imagine. Excessive sleep is known ordinarily to be good. But for some, there is a saying that you can never have too much of a good thing. This is perhaps one reason why people would deem it best to implement a sense of self-discipline among them. The reason being is that a person who is unable to properly measure the amount of sleep and active duty hours may just end up leaving a person want to sleep all the time. Now that is something that cannot be since the matter of survival through earning their keep is still something that needs to bed served.
We would normally get that feeling of wanting to step back, wanting to be momentarily inexistent from the world to be able to get a break from it all. Some would call it crazy, but for people who have been exhausted and readily maximized their times and effort for various instances, the need for long needed breaks is justified. Hence the feeling of temporarily being dead to the world for some time may be an overstatement but for people who have gone through a lot, people would surely be in need for recharging their bodies in all aspects needed, both physically and mentally. Such proclamation would be considered as exaggerated but understandable if people would take note of why such would be done. Some just burn themselves out at times and wanting to step out of the limelight and adhere towards maintaining their sanity, the need to be able to cater towards personal demand for relaxation and regeneration is an obvious needed recourse.
