Dreams Phases to Ponder on
1 Comment Published by Brian Yalung August 10th, 2008 in Dreams, How to sleep better, Sleep Education, Sleep Myths.
When we sleep, we dream of a lot of things. They may not always be immediately associated with what we have just been through. Some of them go as far as our childhood days, reflecting and reminiscing about the past to which some people may find comfort when they sleep.
But there are also dreams that account for current events. Especially when a person is sleeping with something in mind, chances are he will be recalling certain events that have not yet been resolved.
Between the two, a lot can be pointed towards our mental state. Our minds are at work and whatever we have stored there that may be disturbing us will always be the first thing that comes to mind. The reason behind this is that there is a part of our brain that is still conscious. It can be typified to a sort of lack of relaxation to which we tend to address current dilemmas rather than reminisce on the past where we may have a relaxing memory of our good old days.
When we are dreaming, there is a certain part of our mind and being which is aware and conscious, yet some other parts of the brain that are completely at rest. Experts suggest that various types of dreams exist, that range form the dreamer not being in his or her own dream (dreams of childhood) to one where the dreamer is actively reflecting upon the ongoing dream and making deductions and judgments on the events happening in the dream (lucid dreams). This is an interesting lead to the contemplation about the distinction between dreams and reality.

As far as looking for good remedies towards sleep disorders is concerned, people will get a lot of advice on what to do. Relaxation is one thing that many lack and it is apparent that is an active element in making people go to sleep easier.
Just look at Justin Chambers who from a previous post had a serious sleep disorder. We mentioned relaxation as a good tool and Chambers seems to have found that in yoga.
He tells Usmagazine, “I’m doing really good - I’m actually sleeping. I am really enjoying life
“(Bikram Yoga) is where you sit in a 104-degree room, and you stretch for an hour-and-a-half, I swear by it - it’s incredible.”

Sleeping at the Right Time
0 Comments Published by Brian Yalung August 5th, 2007 in How to sleep better, Sleep Disorders, Sleep Issues, Sleep Therapy.
All people long for sleep. The common belief among humans is that the longer that one sleeps the better relaxation and overall regeneration of tired bodies it will be. While some do sleep beyond the usual normal sleeping hours of 8, others may find them totally lazy and become less productive than what they would usually imagine.
Excessive sleep is known ordinarily to be good. But for some, there is a saying that you can never have too much of a good thing. This is perhaps one reason why people would deem it best to implement a sense of self-discipline among them.
The reason being is that a person who is unable to properly measure the amount of sleep and active duty hours may just end up leaving a person want to sleep all the time. Now that is something that cannot be since the matter of survival through earning their keep is still something that needs to bed served.
