Harrison’s Sleep Disorder Center expanded and renovated by providing adding more capacity and adding new equipment to accommodate and resolve patient issues suffering from sleep disorders. The new look offers a more appealing setup, close to a hotel-like atmosphere, and was completed last September. Patients are prescreened before being referred to the sleep center, to make sure a study would benefit them. Once there, they’re hooked up to a dozen or so wires, each monitoring a different parameter. The suites feature the latest in Philips Respironics sleep diagnostic technology, which provides state of the art monitoring of sleep patterns and recorded symptoms for immediate diagnoses and recommended treatment. Sleepy’s will revamp and expand the online Sleep Center, providing valuable information to Sleepys.com visitors about the significant impact a good night’s sleep can have on one’s overall health and wellness. One exclusive feature on the site is the option for customers to schedule in-home delivery at a time of the day most convenient to them. Also since the online shopper cannot ‘test-drive’ the mattress, the site will also feature a “Comfort Finder” to help narrow down a selection of ideal mattresses based on his/her personal comfort preferences. The goals of the site are to provide an online tool for our customers to conduct research on our many products and services, to provide information about sleep and health, and to offer another channel for purchase.” This is not affiliated with Sleepzine.
For the people in St. Louis suffering from various sleep disorders, the opening of the new SSM Center for Sleep Disorders in St. Marys should be a welcome note. Sleep problems are growing in numbers and while not all regions have the luxury of easily accessing sleep specialists in their region, local folks in St. Louis can now expect help within their grasps. The various sleep disorders today like daytime sleepiness, insomnia, sleep apnea, restless legs syndrome and other sleep disorders are no laughing matter. They have become serious issues to which many people are finding hard to remedy. Sleep specialists are bound to change all that and from the looks of it, this new sleep center is bound to help a lot of people combat these sleep abnormalities. Under the direction of Dr. Raman Malhotra, a neurologist, the center offers diagnosis and management of sleep disorders through clinical and laboratory evaluations of patients. Sleep studies are conducted in private bedrooms in a controlled area where brain, heart, muscle and breathing activities are monitored.
For the sleep deprived and insomniacs in the world, getting help in any way that you can seems to be apparent. A lot of people have tried to do it on their own, making use of sleeping pills and adjusting their sleep schedules by forcing themselves the proper hours of sleeping. But that was yesterday’s news. Thanks to the efforts of sleep specialists that have come together, you can now sleep better with SleepBetter.org. Placing emphasis on the various issues that are plaguing sleep deprived individuals today, a visit to this sleep center can most likely be the answer to all your sleep problems. “SleepBetter.org is the go-to resource for fun and engaging science-based tools, tips and information to help anyone get better sleep,” explains Dan Schecter, vice president for Carpenter Co.’s Consumer Products Division. “The site is one step in our journey to educate consumers about all they can do to sleep better – and ultimately enhance their quality of life. It is a wonderful way to initiate the ‘Zzzz Across America’ national sleep tour.” (Source) Business Wire a consumers, How to sleep better, insomniacs, national sleep, Sleep Business, sleep center, Sleep Disorders, SLEEP News, sleep problems, Sleep Psychology, … Continue reading →
a

We have heard of various issues regarding sleepwalking and sleep driving but sleep-texting? Apparently this stems from the fact that a lot of people today are going crazy over texting, the modern way of communicating with anyone with the use of any mobile phone today. Some people just cannot sit well without seeing their mobile phone beside them since anyone at any time may be texting them or perhaps on the other way around, sending messages at any moment they feel like by pushing the keypads of their phone. Normally, we would find ourselves falling asleep and sleeping alongside our phones. But while we all know that we will fall asleep, is it indeed possible to send messages unknowingly to another person while we are in our slumber state? But some sleep experts have another explanation for the sleep text messaging, particularly in those situations in which the text message is coherent. Some say the messages are written while the patient is awake, but they have amnesia for the event. “The `sleep texter’ may have actually been awake, but had not formed new memories for the event,” says Scott Fromherz, medical director of Westside Sleep Center in Tigard, Ore. “There … Continue reading →
a

We have heard of various issues regarding sleepwalking and sleep driving but sleep-texting? Apparently this stems from the fact that a lot of people today are going crazy over texting, the modern way of communicating with anyone with the use of any mobile phone today.

“There is a `built-in’ amnesia of sleep that occurs when the brain is briefly awakened for less than three minutes,” he says.

Thus, a person might wake up in the middle of the night, text someone, go back to sleep and have no recollection of the activity the next morning.
