Sleeping with the Lights On
0 Comments Published by Brian Yalung May 18th, 2007 in How to sleep better, SLEEP Gadgets, Sleep Disorders, Sleep Myths.
Call it something that kids would have to live with, people have made it a habit to have the lights on when they sleep, a type of fear where most would consider is really psychological in nature. While it may be something funny in the eyes of some, it is a reality that people cannot sleep conveniently when they are in the dark.
For people who may find they sleeping alone, this may not pose to be a problem. But for others who cannot seem to sleep with the lights on, it would be up for debate. This is perhaps one reason why night lights were introduced.
While it may not shed the light that most people would want in their room, the fact remains that people would want to see where they are and what things are around them, all visualized when they open their eyes at any point during their sleeping period.

Many would not understand the idea behind the whole scenario. It may be a habit or a mannerism. But overall, it is something that cannot be questioned for people who are already used to it. Getting any form of sleep or shuteye even for just an hour will already have an impact towards how a person can be able to go through a day. Some may call it an act of laziness while others may attribute it towards the lack of sleep owing to the preferred lifestyle that a person would be living. But in all, siestas would be something that people would regularly want to enjoy, especially in the afternoons and regardless if they are working or not.
Siestas should not be typified to long sleeping breaks to which people need to recharge their bodies of energy needed. Some would consider siestas only if they would have the time for it. Housewives or people who would find themselves in the wall of their homes can enjoy such at any time of their preference.
For people at work however, the need to take such siestas is limited towards allowed breaks such as lunch breaks. Other than this, they have to find some ways to keep themselves up and about.

Coffee Keeps you awake for a Specified Period
0 Comments Published by Brian Yalung May 17th, 2007 in Health Issues, Sleep Myths.
Many have been educated that coffee can be able to keep them up, but not entirely since caffeine can only take effect for a certain period of time. Caffeine intake may be good for the human body but will have its usual limitations. Too much caffeine will have its effects on the body and people may find themselves being too hooked on to it that it will go as far as affecting their usual health habits.
Coffee has been a known stimulant to keep people awake. Coffee does get the job done, but it also depends on the people taking it. There are some people who cannot even understand the impact that it would give in some cases. Some use it as a psychological effect and nothing else.
The question perhaps running in the minds of many is on why some people want to stay awake. Some need to be awake most of the time to carry out their duties. While health risks may be involved, it is not bad to be up most of the time. But continuous abuse will take its toll at some point in their lives.
People need to consider their internal human systems to be able to function well and carry out the expected work from them. That is a reality that elements such as coffee cannot even make up for once they have been damaged.
