The Role of Obesity in Sleep Deprivation
0 Comments Published by Brian Yalung October 9th, 2007 in How to sleep better, Insomnia, Sleep Apnea, Sleep Disorders, Sleep Issues.
Many people have always believed that stuffing themselves with food to take the place of usual sleeping habits has been a good way to combat insomnia and known sleep deprivation issues we hear of today. Obesity has been another area for health concerns and surely, there is an association between sleep deprivation and obesity as studies from the National Sleep Foundation have shown.
The whole theory is quite ridiculous. While some people believe in it, it is an unhealthy way of living and making up for lack of sleep which is obviously a need today. Food has its own role in maintaining health and sad to say, it is not a good substitute when it comes to trying to make up for lost sleep.

Female Hypertension due to Lack of Sleep
0 Comments Published by Brian Yalung September 7th, 2007 in Health Issues, How to sleep better, SLEEP News, Sleep Disorders, Sleep Issues.
Bypassing the need for the usual quality sleeping hours among women may more or less be a prime cause for health risk problems. Hypertension and rising blood pressures are the leading contenders for providing health risks to the female species and if women are not careful, they may find themselves more at risk rather than being proactive and helpful.
“Sustained sleep curtailment, ensuing excessive daytime sleepiness and the higher cardiovascular risk are causes for concern,” study leader Francesco Cappuccio, of the University of Warwick’s Warwick Medical School, said in a statement. “Emerging evidence also suggests a potential role for sleep deprivation as a predictor or risk factor for conditions like obesity and diabetes.”

Insomniacs Visit the Toilet Often
0 Comments Published by Brian Yalung August 9th, 2007 in Health Issues, Insomnia, Sleep Disorders.
Insomnia is not all about not being able to sleep and staying awake. Varying factors that include frequent visits to the toilet at night is a possibility and based on this study conducted by Danish researchers, most of this affects men over women.
It is not purely about wanting to do something. The fact that the body is not getting enough sleep and functioning abnormally may lead to some inner body changes. Some of the affected areas and levels based on urine from the study conducted contained large amounts of sodium and potassium.
Hence, sleep deprivation problems such as Insomnia is more than wanting to normalize sleep. It also includes normalizing blood levels which are obviously affected as well.

What’s Keeping Your Baby Awake?
0 Comments Published by Brian Yalung August 7th, 2007 in Health Issues, How to sleep better, SLEEP Psychology, Sleep Disorders, Sleep Issues.
Often, babies are known to only sleep, feed and play a lot during their infancy stage. At times, there will be occasions when babies may not want to sleep immediately owing to some sort of sickness or discomfort that need to be diagnosed properly by parents. In some cases, the intervention of physicians or pediatricians may be a need especially if the baby is really suffering from such a disorder owing to the fact of not being able to rest properly.
The list of potential causes can go on. It can be something that could be traced towards indigestion or potential fever. Babies cannot speak out what they feel and while some people call it a guessing game, knowing their child is the best way to diagnose what the immediate problem really is.
Sleep deprivation among parents is evident since they must attend to the needs of their child. Kids only become babies once in their lifetime and a little sleep deprivation at this stage is little sacrifice to ensure the overall health and comfort of babies.

Healthy Meals Produce Restful Sleep
0 Comments Published by Brian Yalung July 29th, 2007 in Health Issues, How to sleep better, Sleep Disorders, Sleep Issues, Sleep Therapy.
A lot of the people today would normally suffer some identified health problem to go with sleep. One of them is that of diabetes, something that arises from continuous fluctuations in the blood sugar. While monitoring these problems from someone dear to us is already a sleep deprivation of sorts on its own, the patient undergoing this problem suffers a whole lot dearly.
Some may not know the essence of controlling and treating the main problem above all. Physicians are even baffled by the whole thing and relying heavily on medication and prescribed drugs do not always solve the problem at hand.
Food intake and controlling the carbohydrates and related nutrients can help ease the burden at times. Sleep is often interrupted by these illnesses as diabetes but if a person plays and observes the cycle, anyone can try to test some form of alternative remedy to address the whole situation and gain headway in putting emphasis on quality sleeping habits as needed by the human body.
