Technology has been known to provide us with solutions and sleep disorders are not about to be left behind. Using the medium of the Internet to determine the dysfunctional problems that we have to deal with before we get good sleep needs to be monitored and analyzed. Today, there is a new tool that is being psyched up to help transfer data to the specialists so that they can in turn help provide feasible answers on why people have to deal with sleepless nights. The devices monitor body indicators during a patient’s sleep, such as blood-oxygen levels, nose airflow pressure and whether air passages are obstructed. They feed the information to specialists via the internet. They are being trialled in the forehead of nasal masks already worn by patients with sleep apnoea, a common condition where breathing difficulties disrupt sleeping patterns.
The Oscars may have been finished and not all favorite actors or actresses came home as the winner. But as a form of consolation, most of the actors didn’t go home empty-handed. Most of them were given a special sleeping mask, the GLOtoSleep masks, to help assist them in sleep disorder problems that most may be suffering from. It is a fact that most of these celebrities has had to deal with the said sleeping problems, bulk of which were caused by the excitement of possibly winning in the 2008 Oscars. While many had sleepless nights, for the celebrities with recurring sleep problems, this gift is indeed something worthy to help get back to their normal courses of sleep. Recipients of an ongoing good nights sleep, courtesy of the GLOtoSLEEP™ mask, were Best Actor Nominees: George Clooney, Johnny Depp, Tommy Lee Jones, and Viggo Mortensen; Best Supporting Actor Nominees: Casey Affleck, Phillip Seymour Hoffman, Hal Holbrook and Tom Wilkinson; Best Supporting Actress Nominees: Cate Blanchett, Julie Christie, Laura Linney and Ellen Page and Best Actress Nominees: Ruby Dee, Saoirse Ronan and Amy Ryan. Trying to move forward and thinking of the events that may be in store for us, both favorable and not, is something we simply cannot really set aside just like a snap of a finger. All people have to deal with this dilemma. Headlining the list are political leaders such as Philippine President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo and even United States President George Bush. But while they both claim that their problems are farthest from their minds, it would be interesting to know how they can be able to go through it. President Macapagal-Arroyo is not losing sleep over loud calls for her resignation as a result of the purported bribery and overprice scandal attending the scrapped National Broadband Network project.
So this post maybe a bit different. While we all know that sleep is the number one victim of people who cannot afford to relax when it comes to business and investing. Indeed some people would forego sleep and lieu of devising new ideas to make up for faltering businesses. Indeed, business problems will surely lead to sleepless nights. But one thing that they should perhaps consider is if they continue with it and abuse their body continuously, they may as well end up losing investments and health together. What is your number one investment priority? Finding the next “hot” stock? Making huge profits? Making 10 percent a year on your money? If you found yourself nodding at any of these suggestions, you need to rethink your whole approach to money management. The number one goal of every investor should actually be to sleep comfortably at night. Simplistic? Sure! Personal finance expert Gordon Pape explains that if you adopt the sleep-easy philosophy as your basic credo, both your health and wealth will benefit. In this must-read book, Pape explains this investing philosophy and how it can be used by everyone to avoid the greed and fear traps.
If most businessmen and entrepreneurs had a choice, this bad dream of recession that may soon be plaguing the world is a nightmare that they would want to sleep on. A crisis is upon the world and apparently many of these traders and businessmen will have sleepless nights ahead. Most of them will be counting and computing figures for sure. Money lost is something that will drive anyone crazy. So with all these issues in mind, who can afford to sleep? Knowing these people, they would rather stay up and look for other means of investing their money. It is just an issue that some people will not pass. Falling stock markets are a lot more bearable if you know what to expect. So let’s study a little history. Back in early 2001, the markets were in a position similar to the one they’re in now, and a whiff of panic was in the air. Headlines in the Canadian business press back then show it was justified in the short term, because the ensuing bear market was long and severe. The longer-term view from today makes all the fearful recriminations of early 2001 look almost quaint by their datedness. Here’s … Continue reading →
a

Here’s one for you: “Research In Motion shares plummet,” from Jan. 3, 2001. A couple of days later: “Research In Motion continues to spiral.”

While most people would have their own set of tips that include reading a book, counting sheep or even drinking warm milk, it is best to have a good reference and guide on what you can consider to improve your sleeping habits. Indeed, sleeping has become a hindrance to most people and their health may be put into question. Most people who have to deal with the sleep deprivation problems will probably do anything to be able to sleep better and improve on their health risks tied up with the sleepless nights they have to deal with. While most people would have their own set of tips that include reading a book, counting sheep or even drinking warm milk, it is best to have a good reference and guide on what you can consider to improve your sleeping habits.

Indeed, sleeping has become a hindrance to most people and their health may be put into question. While others may feel that they can overcome sleepless nights, it would be best to be more attentive at sleep disorders once you want to hit the sack.

1) Avoid watching TV before bed…especially in bed!- The bed should be reserved for two things…sleep and romance…not Desperate Housewives or football! Research shows that those who experienced the most sleep disturbances had televisions in their bedrooms and used the TV to fall asleep.

2) Try a different pillow or mattress. It’s scary to think how long some of us have been sleeping on the same pillows and mattresses for years and years. Does your mattress provide the support you like? Do you wake with your back aching? Is there enough room for you and your sleep partner? Do you sleep better, or worse, when you sleep away from home? These are all things to ask yourself to determine if your mattress could be the “sabotager” of your good night’s sleep. Or more simply, just replacing your pillow with a new, fresh, higher quality version could be all that you need.

3) Avoid caffeine late in the day. Did you know that even a small amount of caffeine even 10-12 hours before bedtime can cause problems falling asleep! Try eliminating the tea, soda and even chocolate and see if sleep improves.

4) Listen to relaxing music. Establishing a relaxing bedtime routine, such as listening to music, could be just the thing you need to signal your body it is time to sleep. So, dim the lights and throw some slow jazz or purchase a “relaxing sounds” CD to help slow your mind and body down for an evening of peaceful sleep.

5) Try mind- body techniques. After an action-packed day, your brain and body need to unwind and detox before sleep can occur (a.k.a. you need to chill!) Create a “ritual” for bedtime – take a bath, meditate, do some easy stretches or yoga. Try to do your “ritual” in the same way, in the same place, at the same time each night. The repetition will trigger your mind and body that it is time to relax and sleep.

6) Try a natural sleep aid. For many people, while the above tips and suggestions may help, it often isn’t enough. if you are one of those people who really have a hard time getting to sleep and staying asleep, you may want to try a natural sleep aid.

This runs on until the first few months of the newborn and chances are they would become frustrated and entirely weak for the first few months of the child. Essays and thesis papers require some time to finish and while preparatory stages are given at their convenience, kids and teens simply wait for the last minute before they even think of doing some work to avoid cramming and getting sleepless nights ahead. Cramming is a common mentality that is experienced everywhere. The usual belief is if you can sacrifice a day or two’s sleep, then you have no problem. But mind you, there are a lot of factors to consider as well such as time constraints when you cram. Further, you may not turn in quality work, something prevalent when you lack sleep since your mind needs to rest too. In the end, both efforts are deemed as futile. You don’t get decent grades and you end up sacrificing your health in the process. A lot of these games include that of Xbox, Playstation and Wii game consoles, all hot commodities which provide family and home entertainment. However, discipline seems to be lost in the fray. Rather than saving play for later, a lot of gamers have chosen to play until the early mornings even during school days. The result is lack of sleep and risking health as well.
No violent reactions and unwanted remarks should be disclosed with this conclusion: Technology does indeed play a role in depriving sleep. Let us face it, people are excited and uneasy when they get a new toy that is technology based. These include cellphones, computer gadgets and game consoles. People would face endless hours focusing their attention gazing and studying their gadgets, much of which would take some time to get over with. This endless time includes that of forgetting about the time and thus people find themselves awake relentlessly while enjoying their gadget and toys. Sleep? Well for them sleep can wait and be entertained later. While this is true, just pray that this does not become a habit because regulating sleepless nights would usually entail habitual trouble when going back to the regular sleeping hours of people today.
It is easy to tell people to take it easy. But deep inside, it is easier said than done. People need to have a relaxed and freed up mind to relax totally. This is something that most people today fail to enjoy. Life offers too much obstacles and pressure for people to take them for granted. The truth of it all is that many of us today find ourselves wanting to relax and take it easy. If only life was that simple then all of us can sleep properly and free ourselves from dreaded issues surrounding sleeping difficulties and issues that we normally encounter.

Check out this snore stopper, a new way of stopping your snoring husband or wife. It uses snoring frequency and biofeedback techniques. At $80, this might be a great solution for all your past sleepless nights. Reduce snoring frequency and volume with natural biofeedback techniques. A simple wrist belt worn while sleeping allows the Snore Stopper’s biosensors to detect snores. The unit then issues a gentle electronic wave of light stimulation onto superficial skin. Rather than waking the snorer, this 5-second impulse merely causes a reflex—either a change in body position or an increase in throat muscle tension—much like the nudging of a spouse. Studies report that approximately 80% of snorers have shown improvement when using the Snore Stopper—a unique subconscious approach that’s much less expensive than surgery, dental appliances and machines. Added benefits include better breathing while sleeping, and fewer next-day difficulties such as sleepiness, headaches and irritability. Take it along when you’re traveling: unit is compact, light and includes carrying case. Entire kit includes manual for use; self-adhesive electrode pads (3 pairs); moist alcohol wipe; storage case; screwdriver and wrist belt with magic tape and hook. Includes auto power-off function after 8 hours. a added_benefits, auto_power, better_breathing, biofeedback_techniques, … Continue reading →
a
