Going the Distance without Sleep

While we are all concerned about how long we can go without sleep, perhaps it would be best to look at it the other way. How long can you go without sleep? No this is not a challenge but it is something to which we can all share the reality that people who forego sleep cannot go very far.
Our bodies need to rest some time and this is when we have to sleep even for a short period of time. There is no such thing as a sleep-less person. It would be entirely crazy. Also, why would a person not want to sleep?
Unless you are aiming for a record, then perhaps it would be something for a purpose. But in reality, not sleeping is something we cannot survive for long. With that said, how long do you think you can stay awake?

Even News Reporters Need To Sleep
0 Comments Published by Brian Yalung July 31st, 2007 in Health Issues, How to sleep better, SLEEP Fun, SLEEP Video, Sleep Humor, Sleep Issues.Newscasters and reporters would usually have to work round the clock, sometimes affecting the entire body clock as far as trying to get the proper resting and sleeping period. However, trying to cope up with the needed sleep cycle may not be easy for some public serving news people as some just have to keep on going since the show must go on.
However, there are times where you just cannot stay awake for long. Hopefully it does not happen on occasions where live segments are being aired.

Falling Asleep at Live Events
0 Comments Published by Brian Yalung July 30th, 2007 in How to sleep better, SLEEP Fun, SLEEP Video, Sleep Humor.Normally, games and special events are supposed to keep you up and about. But dozing off at some point cannot be avoided, even at lively events. But such a scenario is indeed rare to occur and from all indications, it would be best to stay awake or become the laughing stock or center of attention rather than the game.
The worst part of it all is that a person who may not be aware of what is going on might find himself being the focus of attention. Now that would really be embarrassing!

Struggling with Narcolepsy
0 Comments Published by Brian Yalung July 26th, 2007 in Health Issues, How to sleep better, Narcolepsy, SLEEP Video, Sleep Disorders, Sleep Issues.Narcolepsy has been known to be a struggling issue when it comes to have to stay awake and control when we want to sleep. Narcolepsy does limit itself towards humans but dogs as well.
The picture of a person or animal suffering from narcolepsy is not at all comforting. People who want to stay awake yet are deprived to do so find themselves sleeping at the most inappropriate moment. Just take a look at this poodle who is suffering from this dreaded narcolepsy syndrome.

DIY - How to make a Lucid Dreaming Mask!
0 Comments Published by Max March 10th, 2007 in How to sleep better, SLEEP Fun, SLEEP Gadgets, SLEEP News, SLEEP Psychology.
Check out this DIY on how to make a lucid dreaming mask! If you’ve experienced lucid dreaming before, this is the one you can make and help you stay awake even in sleep!
For the uninitiated, lucid dreaming is a phenomenon whereby a person who is asleep and dreaming realizes that he (or she) is dreaming, and continues to control the dream, acting out fantasies or gaining special powers all within the dream.
I find it a wonderful concept - every night you enter a fake reality (your dreams) and have the opportunity to break out of it (just like Neo in The Matrix).
