For anyone who sleeps, dreams will be there. But the thing is, are they in color or black and white? Seems like a question for TV geeks but seriously, it seems that dreams may come in color or black and white for people, if they can remember them that is. Apparently a journal called Dreaming asked some people about their dreams. 80% of the younger portion said they got colored dreams while the older ones either couldn’t remember or had them in black and white. And since we did mention that this study seems to be somewhat connected to television, it looks like the study leaned more towards watching colored TV as the main reason. These days, all of us practically enjoyed colored TV sets. And if you think about it, the logic behind it may be the fact that the old folks were around when the era of black and white TV sets were around. The Alternative Clock is another ingenious creation that can wake you up using appliances that you choose to plug in. This was all made possible for the clock with its two outlets situated on top of it. Apparently, you can plug in your blender, radio or even your television on to it which goes off once the set time to wake up has been reached.
Television has been used by some parents to help get their kids to sleep. Watching cartoon characters like Bugs Bunny or Spongebob Squarepants do seem harmless. In fact they are hilarious and keep the kids occupied, not to mention happy. However, a sleep study proves otherwise and point to these late night TV shows are potentially violent en route to kids getting nightmares. A new sleep study out of the Seattle Children’s Research Institute shows wee ones between the ages of 3 and 5 experienced more nightmares, tiredness during the day and trouble waking up when they watched violent shows or when they were on the computer or watching TV after 7 p.m. This was reported at Good Morning America. The researchers went through sleep diaries kept over a week from parents who took note of their child’s sleep patterns and behaviors. Watching TV or using a computer on an average of 73 minutes per day with seemingly harmless cartoon characters account for violence. For the parents, you may want to rethink your sleep strategy for your kids. They may be causing more harm and trauma rather than help for your little one/s.
Music will always be a great help to make us sleep. We mostly turn to our portable media players for help on this but in case you aren’t at east with them, shift to the big time with these Tornado Music Headboards. These are high-tech headrests that come with two built-in speakers. Rather than confine yourself to earphones, this is an audio system that allows you to plug in your iPod, MP3, television or computer to enjoy a surround-sound theatre experience. Of course this is with the understanding that you would turn to soft music to get some shuteye. If you happen to be a rocker or a person who loves loud music, this is something that will keep you awake and lively rather than rest you up for some good sleep.
Weird as it sounds, it seems strange to find how partners would be envious seeing their mate sleeping while they remain awake for some reason. And studies seem to indicated that this is a common trend for couples where the partner who is awake would do some things to awaken or just disturb the sleeping person beside him or her. The most common revenge is to simply toss and turn until their bleary-eyed husband is awake. The next best thing is an “accidental” poke or prod in the ribs. Some admitted using less subtle tactics such as chatting until they got a response, making a loud noise and even turning on the light or television. Have you experienced such a thing as sleep envy?
Not all of us are perhaps familiar with Mumba, Granby Zoo’s silverback gorilla. Mumba was a one of a kind gorilla, coming close to adopting the human way of living. He enjoyed listening to soft rock and jazz, and watching Scooby Doo cartoons on television. But similar to most people who reach their old age, Mumba the Gorilla died in his sleep of natural causes at the age of 48 or 90 if you count the human years. Mumba was seen by almost 20 million people who wanted to get a glimpse of this one of a kind animal. Mumba leaves no descendants. Attempts to mate him with three female gorillas failed.
As far as getting the much required sleeping hours, a lot of people would pay big bucks to know the secrets. But the question would if it would be necessary? Normally, we treat sleep disorders such as sleep apnea and insomnia as rash and serious but when you think about it, much of the problem may be due to our doing. One common thing we can point to is the presence of gadgets that pose more of distractions and temptations rather than sleeping aids. Television and the usual noisy component which you can tune up at any time you wish are just some of the common things that can keep us awake when we feel like it. So what am I getting at? Well for starters, sleep can be achieved with proper evaluation of ourselves beforehand. There are far more serious problems today but normally, we just have to trace the roots that allowed them to bloom as big problems we face today. Since sleep deprivation can contribute to loss of productivity and crash your immune system, getting an uninterrupted night’s sleep is a luxury you shouldn’t pass up.

Since sleep deprivation can contribute to loss of productivity and crash your immune system, getting an uninterrupted night’s sleep is a luxury you shouldn’t pass up. One of the key tips requires discipline: put your clock on the bottom shelf. That way, the glow of the digital electronic display would not shine in your face and keep you up at night. By relocating your clock to a different area of your nightstand, if you do wake up, you’ll be less stressed out that you’re losing out on that important sleep.

The proper sleeping position is usually lying down. Now there will be times where you would want to see what goes on around you, thus becoming a problem since you have to face that way to make sure you are aware of what is going on. Another thing may be wanting to watch television and normally we would be found in slanting positions until we lull ourselves to sleep. The MEDesign Bed Glasses offers an innovative way of making sure we don’t force our backs so much and observe the proper laying position when we are in bed. Creepy as it may seem since we feel unorthodox viewing things from a position through these glasses, it is an effective way of observing sleep and our overall bed position. Lying flat on your back due to acute back pain is not a joke Our prism glasses make the experience much more bearable They turn the world through 90º so that you can see your feet whilst looking straight ahead Watch TV, read books or just watch the world go by without lifting your head Made to high optical standards and can be worn over spectacles Source: MEDesign Ltd. a glasses, How … Continue reading →
a

Lying flat on your back due to acute back pain is not a joke

Our prism glasses make the experience much more bearable

They turn the world through 90º so that you can see your feet whilst looking straight ahead

Watch TV, read books or just watch the world go by without lifting your head

Made to high optical standards and can be worn over spectacles

There are some people who love to watch television to lull them to sleep. While this is a known practice to help put most of us to get drowsy and sleep, leaving the TV set on may not be the best solution after all. Other than using up electricity, there is a hazard of potential fire coming from overheating or electrical malfunction. To avoid them, there is an option that is usually present in TV sets and this is the sleep timer which can be set at various times such as 30 minutes to 2 hours. Knowing how well fast you can sleep, most people would do well to consider it so that they can sleep and not worry about leaving it on. It may sound simple to most but if you really practice it, then perhaps we would see less problems and worries today. Most of the time, people are left in awe at what entertains them the most. Once this does occur, they tend to extend viewing or surfing time in favor of sleep just to fulfill their curiosity. This is nothing new both to the young and old people who lack sleep. This is practically seen today. People complain about sleep. But the matter of trying to control their sleep management should not come as a surprise when the issue booms out of ordinary proportions.
Have you ever got that feeling of your eyes may be encountering some twitching sensation even if you are simply just staring at something? Usually, this is normal for people who lack sleep or have abused their eyes by being exposed to radiation rays coming from computers or television or just plainly lack the rest needed just like the human body. Eyes need to rest as well. Abusing them will have it dire consequences. Some would encounter faltering eyesight at some point while others may have blurry vision at times. Oversleeping is not an option. Doing such would certainly not be good towards the eyes and will also tag along corresponding headaches to boot. Many have overlooked the proper amount of time that their eyes should be used. But as a whole, people should know how to manage the length of time that their eyes are used since rest and proper care of the optical side of a person should be given attention as well. Many would feel that twitching eyes are only normal. But to most, allowing it to balloon at times may lead towards unlikely symptoms of eye problems which would occur. Hence sleeping has an impact on … Continue reading →
a
