Ondo State is pushing for a new anti-sleep gadget, one that may very well help curb down the accidents caused by drowsiness or sleeping when driving. Apparently the device is something that is attached to the ear of the driver which will trigger an alarm in case the driver becomes drowsy.

The campaign is something commenced by Chevron Nigeria Ltd. And Star Deep water Petroleum Ltd. The initiative is part of the company’s corporate social responsibility that is geared towards helping sleep-deprived truck drivers so that they may also pay more attention to safety measures while on the road.

The rate of auto crashes has claimed many lives within a span of two months and hopefully this campaign can somehow remedy the alarming development for drowsy and sleep-deprived truckers and drivers on the road.
